Congratulations to Alex and his family, Wayne, Robyn and Nick. Alex is a great addition to a very successful recruiting class of 2005's for the 49ers.

What a busy month for the Chapmans. The family just returned from Williamsport (Nick was a member of the Morganton little league team and Wayne was an assistant coach) and Alex makes his commitment to Charlotte.

I was thinking the same thing...but what a wonderful month it has been for them. Congratulations to Alex and his family and another great addition to the 49'rs. Brandon Hall w/UNCC continues to be rewarded with his hard work!!!

Does anyone know what is happening at UNC-C? They are scooping up a lot of tremendous local talent. In the past, at least by my recollection, they either didn't recruit the local area real hard OR had a tough time signing local players. It appears that either one or both has changed and I believe it is definitely to UNC-C's great benefit.

Don't necessarily have any inside knowledge but I do know that Coach Hall and Coach Durkac have infused alot of energy to UNCC's recruiting efforts. They both have been very visable at showcases, tournaments, and local high school and legion games and have done a great job of reintroducing UNCC's baseball program to area coaches and players. One gets a sense of how much these two love their work and how dedicated they are to their players. They go about the recruiting process the correct way, with class.

Heres hoping that their efforts continue to produce a windfall for deserving local baseball talent.

    Wes Williams to UVA

Impact is reporting that TC Roberson outfielder, Wes Williams, has verbally committed to Virginia. UVA has now dipped into NC to get two of NC's better players, Williams and Greg Miclat from JM Robinson.

Too bad Hibbs, Brummett, Hill, and Rummage could never figure out they had talent in their own backyard.

    Wes Borden !!!!

Wes Borden (South Meck) has committed to ASU. The switch-hitting MIF will be a great pickup for the Mountaineers. Wes is a great competitor and seems to improve his game every week. Hard worker and a great attitude. New coach Chris Pollard got a good one here !!!!!

    WAY TO GO WES!!!!!!!

Way to go Wes!!!!! The hard working 2nd baseman has a terrific attitude and great work ethic. Wes is one of those type players that will get even better at the college level.

Congratulations to Wes and to his wonderful family. The Bordens ( Bordones :D) are so much fun to be around. Craig, Lisa and Carol should be proud of raising such a fine young man. Can't wait for the season to begin and to watch Wes help lead the Sabres to success.

Coach Pollard is getting a gem.... a player with talent and equally talented student
