....in the News and Observer sports page about Wake Forest Rolesville having won a very impressive 104 conference games in a row since 2000.

They got #105 tonight as well.

The fishman has limited capabilties for sure and one of those is the ability to cut and copy and paste this article for all to see.

Can somebody help us out here?

Thanks,..........and props to all for such an awesome feat!

    Here ya go Fishman

RALEIGH -- Wake Forest-Rolesville has so totally dominated its conference softball opponents that the current seniors have never lost a league game. Neither did the seniors before them or the seniors before them or the seniors before them or, well, you get the idea.
The Cougars have not lost a league softball game since 2000, a streak that reached 104 games this past Friday with an 11-0 victory against Cap Seven opponent Enloe.
When senior shortstop Jordan Scarboro first laced up her cleats as a freshman pitcher for the Cougars, the league winning streak was 56 games. She said it never crossed her mind that she would play her entire high school career and never lose a conference game. That will happen if the Cougars win their last three regular-season games, as expected.

"The streak is not something that I would have ever expected when I came in," Scarboro said Friday after an almost typical one-hit victory. "The streak puts a lot of pressure on us, but that's good because it makes us focus."

The Cougars were focused against Enloe. WF-R gave up a season-high seven runs in a 12-7 early-season victory over the Eagles. On the ride to Friday afternoon's rematch, coach Doug Kinsman mentioned the game.
"That definitely got our attention," Scarboro said. "We needed to play better this time."
WF-R freshman pitcher Brittany Dahle, the latest in a decade-old line of outstanding pitchers, had a perfect game through 32/3 innings against Enloe. Rebecca Foil's well-hit grounder up the middle messed with the perfection, but it did nothing to stop the winning streak.
Dahle struck out five during her five innings of work. She said the team is so good that pitching is a pleasure.
"We've got so many good players," she said. "There is some pressure, but not really, because we have such good athletes and they play so aggressively."
Enloe, like most other Cap Seven opponents, was beaten by the Cougars' timely hitting, defense and pitching that has been overwhelming.
Kinsman points to the run of pitchers as a key to the league domination. Jennifer Cummings was throwing when the Cougars lost to Erwin Triton, then a league member, 10 years ago.
Cummings also was pitching when the current streak started. She later played at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Cummings was followed on the mound by Paige Brantley, who later pitched at Mars Hill, and by Ali Burr, who played at N.C. State. Scarboro, a University of North Carolina recruit as an infielder, pitched two seasons, and Kelly Holding pitched last season.
Dahle has come in this year and shut down most teams. She has a 9-2 record, with a 1-0 loss to Southern Vance and a 5-1 loss to Northern Vance. WF-R didn't get a hit in either game.
That's usually not a problem. The Cougars average 8.2 runs per game. The offense is led by Scarboro, who was 4-for-4 against the Eagles with a home run, and catcher Lauren Autry, who is hitting .595.
The pitching matchup usually favors the Cougars, and few teams are as good defensively. The Cougars are well armed and well drilled.
Kinsman said he can put more demands on the players in practice because of the tradition. And the girls respond positively.
For example, Wake Forest-Rolesville committed four errors on Wednesday when it lost the game to Northern Vance. The Cougars responded with the best practice of the season on Thursday. On Friday, they were determined not only to keep the conference streak intact, but to play better.
"I can't remember another time when we made four errors," Kinsman said. "If you play well and lose, you can accept it. But to play as poorly as we did against Northern Vance eats at you.
"Our seniors just put it on themselves to be more focused in practice. Jordan is a great leader. She has the ability to say the right thing at the right time, and the team responds."
But the two losses this season highlight a nagging suspicion by some that the Cougars are a very good team in a league not known for great softball. The team's overall record during the streak is 167-45, meaning its nonconference record is 63-45 during the run.
"I'm not so naive to not know that some people doubt the strength of our league," Kinsman said. "But we've been to the final four at Walnut Creek twice in the last six years. You don't do that without having a really good team.
"We fought back and scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat Garner 4-3 earlier this year. You don't beat Southern Vance. You don't win those games if you don't have some character."
Kinsman said if there is a secret to the Cougars' success, it is attitude.
"You get a great leader who establishes a work ethic and passes it on," Kinsman said. "Hard work becomes your tradition. I've been fortunate to have a string of great pitchers, but I've also been very fortunate to have a bunch of girls who were not afraid to work hard. To me that's the real key."
Kinsman can't control how good the opponents are, but he can keep trying to build around players such as Scarboro, who leads not only with the occasional right word but with consistently hard work.

    Here's the link:

They have had a stream of excellent players over the years. Ali Burr, Paige Brantley, Nikki Prier, Erica Fairchild, to name just a few from the past.

Jordan Scarboro is absolutely one of the best players I've seen. Anyone who has ever seen her work or play knows what I'm talking about.

They always beat our team but they've always had a place in my heart. One of the toughest losses for me was the loss of one of their players, Amanda Clifton in a car accident May 8, 1998. An only child, she was buried on Mother's Day.

There is an annual softball scholarship in memory of Amanda at Wake Forest-Rolesville.

Words can't describe or paint the picture of how much influence that child has had on our kids and will continue for many years to come.

    Burr

What about Ali Burr's playing status at NCSU? Can't help but notice virtually no PT.

Landon is definitely a most worthy recipient of that award. I'm sure Amanda is very honored to be remembered through Landon.

Many times when I think of Amanda I think of Landon and many times when I read about Landon's many successes I think of Amanda.

Thanks for remembering Amanda. Her parents, Doug and Debbie Clifton still keep a candle burning at her grave.
