W. Caldwell: Rumor has it: Styron is out! and Big may be back!

fpstupor, Dont start again, they were very little complainig at WC when Biggs was there.... Give me a break man! The problems at WC are far beyond anything that you know!!!!!! If Big would have had last years WC football team they would have seriously challenged for the 2-a CROWN. This is not a POST about whiney warriors or whiney Cavs, Its a post about the change of guard at two schools but I can guarentee you one thing, Wherever Biggs goes he will beat Freedom!

 

Did Caldwell County change the rule so an administrator could coach if they didn't he'll probably stay at EB were he can.

Nice to see you back. I've heard the same rumor about Styron getting the axe. I just haven't heard that Big will replace him. Who's your source? When will it take place?

 

In all seriousness, is this a rumor or have you really heard that he's being terminated. Be credible here. Please don't tell us what you want to see done over what actually will take place, OK!

 

Hulkster I cannot give you any names yet because it could become a serious problem that the issues are not official yet but I have spoken to someone in the front office high in the WC administration and Styron's resignation seems to be just a matter of timing.... Look for him to stay on at the school but as far as any coaching that will be up to the new coach... As as Mike Biggerstaff returning to West Caldwell, My source is very reliable and close to Biggerstaff and from what I was told Is that Mike would have to have a change of heart to not come back to WC ... The only big issue here with Big is the pay but I think from what was said is that will be worked out...

FP supor, In 1987 the school board told Mike Biggerstaff he could not be principle and coach! then the community raised hell and they decided to ok it but they already pissed Big off.... The issue here will maybe come down to the school board but this school board will grant Mike Biggerstaff this time and the first time because they will not wish to face the wrath of the community again.... As far as the administration side I really think its a done deal and with that in the warriors pocket the warriors can match if not better East Burkes pay for Big's services....

I'm not wanting to upset anyone, EB wants to keep big and WC wants him back... Its like I said, Big's blood still is Warrior blue although some Cavalier blue has mixed with it because he loves his kids at EB but like I said, at WC , well read my second post on this thread I started

By the way Hulkster, It all did start as a rumor to me but I have talked to some people since, People that would know if something is going on... The rumor is legit hulkster... I only hear that it would take a change of heart from Big for the second part not to come through

 

JYD, what have you heard over the last couple of days? Any new developements?

 

Hulkster, so far its been a pretty tight lid... Coach Styron is well liked among the faculty at WC and from what I understand now is he is gonna step down on his own. I was told it was his or gonna be his decision to resignate the post. What truth is behind that or if he is gonna be forced to do it I do not know because even the administrator I spoke with is very fond of Styron as a person... I hate the fact that he is such a good person because it makes it all a hard decision... Although he is not a good head football coach it is still his job and livelyhood... I think under direction of a good coach and a good coaches system He could be a good offensive coordinater... Mike Biggerstaff will be offered the position and he will be the first one approached with the job... As of now from a source(someone close, very close) to Mike says he will come but also said like anyone he could also have a change of heart... But I will say that surprisingly I actually first heard these things last friday night at the EB/Lee cty playoff football game... I say Mike will be back and Wayne Fletcher will take over at East Burke where he was once head coach there before. Fletcher is now EB's defensive coordinater and I think he'll continue what Big has started there so I dont think the Cavs will hurt for it that much although fletcher is still no Mike Biggerstaff by any means... My goodness look at what a turnaround Big has done in Icard in just two short years! and athletically, East Burke is not much more athletic than even a South Caldwell which shows what Fundementals, Discipline, Conditioning and a strong weight program can do for a High School program!

 

Interesting. Just so I understand correctly, are you saying that initially the leadership within the school was going to fire Styron and has now stated that the decision is up to him? If so, that is an interesting turn of events. I wonder what prompted that change of heart?

Here's another interesting point. My neighbor, who has a kid that plays on the team, was at the football end of the season banquet and said that Styron went into this speal about how next year the team will be different and that the discipline would improve-------as he promised. This leads me into my next question, did somebody come up to him and ask him to resign? Was he asked? Was it suggested? This is getting interesting.

What do you ultimately think will happen? I think he'll end up staying.

 

well first of all when I first heard of this it was said to me that he would be fired but when I spoke with someone that would know would know if something was up I think what I was told was just to save face because Styron is well liked at the school... Personally I think it all adds up to he's gonna get the axe but they are gonna let him resign to save face and not make him look bad.... I'm 99.9% sure he is gone from that post and the only change of heart that could stop it lies within the administration 's change of heart and thats the only thing that gets the 00.1%!!!!

 

Another wonderful installment of as Warrior football turns. I've talked to people that remember Bigg getting cussed when he was winning there so I don't see him coming back, but I've been wrong before. Either way lte's hope East Burke wins tomorrow.
