Weather Postponements

Just courious...was Asheville/Freedom a casulty of the weather or because of the gas shortage? I know Asheville City Schools has done a lot of cutbacks this week.

 

Not that I know of, there was some discussion early in the week about postponing until Monday. That didn't happen, and Asheville's field hockey team came down to FHS on Thursday, so I don't think fuel was a factor.

It is our home game so we get to pretty much make the call. We are running the spread this year and Asheville runs it a little more. I'd bet that was the major factor, and it was just plain nasty out tonight..

 

Fayetteville Jack Britt at Richmond County Saturday at 7:00. The first conference game for both and the winner of this game will likely be the conference champ. Should be a good game. Most folks have Richmond as the underdog.

 

blackjackwally..... I don't think you can crown either team the champ after this game. I think Seventy-First and Douglas Byrd are too good and could beat either Richmond or Britt.

Speaking of the game, I was there and Richmond's defense was just too much for Britt.

 

I know there are Charlotte fans on here - I'm surprised no one has brought up the CMS decision to move weather postponed games from last Friday to this Wednesday due to Monday being the start of Jewish relgious holiday.

That means teams will have to play Wednesday AND Friday night this week.

That is beyond rediculous they would risk the injury of student athletes asking them to play two games 48 hours apart.

I bet the kids don't go to school on that day either (today) and it's considered okay. Try to get good friday off and have it not count! Absurd!
