    Scotland 8 Lumberton 1

Not a very well-played game. Scotland very physically superior to a young Lumberton team. Patterson was the WP and threw well. Maybe a 5-hitter. Read threw four for Lumberton and wasn't terrible but not ral sharp either. Gave up 4 or 5 hits coupled with some defensive miscues. It was 4-0 when he left and then Scotland broke it open late. Lumberton did show a few signs of life in this game unlike the first game against Pinecrest. It think they are going to be OK. Scotland is going to be a very tough out. Their kids play with alot of confidence. Very athletic at every position. Top of their order is scary with a tough outs at #1 and #2 aand then Liles and Bangs.

    Hopewell over South Meck

Hopewell played an excellent game against South Meck Wed. South Meck jumped out to an early 3 run lead. Hopewell had a 6 run inning in the 5th and added 4 in the 6th. South Meck had chances in the 6th and 7th with bases loaded and let it slip away
Great job Hopewell coaches and players...

Hopewell had two big homeruns in the 5th and 6th....Yankee, help me out with the highlights for the Hopewell players

GREAT WIN FOR THE TITANS - And like Yankees noted, should be quite the game next week! Yankees gave us some of the info on the Hopewell squad...Dbacks20, how about giving some of the information on the South Meck gang - the pitchers they used and who their key hitters were....

    Richmond/Swett

Richmond beat Swett 16-4 in 6 innings. Wasn't as bad as it sounds, just one REALLY good inning kind of ruined it for Swett. Swett actually lead 3-2 in the 3rd, but it went downhill for them from there. Richmond hosts Pine Forest tonight at 5. That's usually a pretty big game for the Raiders.

    two games, two shutouts

    Ragsdale 8
    Mt. Tabor 0

Juniors Catlin Carter and Tyler Rankin combined for the shutout. I don't have any stats. It was 8-0 in the top of the 5th when I finally got there.

Ragsdale 2-0 on the season heading to Wilson for a big game with DH Conley this Saturday.

    West Stanly/CCS

Hats off to the entire West Stanly Team. Jubal Burrelson pitched one heck of a game. Wil Huneycutt picked up the save. Great defense all around, leave it to Coach Lee. First he picks Jubal to pitch, then he calls for the squeeze play and it works to perfection. Just a great team effort, every player, every coach.:229031_ha

    Hickory/Alexander Central

    Hickory- 7
    AC- 5

Clay Smith picked up the win for the Tornadoes and Austin Johnson got the save. Loss went to Justin James who was replaced by Cameron Curly in the 3rd inning. Josh Russell finished the game for the Cougars. Pretty well played game. Clay Smith had 2 hits and 3 RBI's. Hickory's "Player to Watch," Derek Boliek went 1-4 but hit the ball hard. Boliek is playing injured and is supposed to be limited. He has a rib out of place which kept him out a lot this fall/winter. Could have a major effect on his performance, but this kid is tough, he will play through anything, played through a broken ankle last year, nothing seems to phase him. Both teams looked strong and Hickory is playing well without their star outfielder Wilson Boyd who is now with Clemson. AC is looking good without their 3rd baseman Brian Corbett who is now playing for Western Carolina.
