    Great to see

First Jubal, (whose real name is Matthew by the way) is now getting to pitch. As I stated earlier, Coach Lee used to not let him. He just wanted him to play SS. Jubal and Wil both played for me this fall and Jubal pitched against the team coached by Coach Lee (Bill Capps' team). Now Jubal is getting to pitch. First he does well against Providence, then he and Wil team up to beat powerhouse Christian. Then I see Wes got the win for the Patriots. Wes and Darrall Simmons also palyed for me this fall. Darrall has been hitting the ball well. I saw in the paper Spencer Terry ( 6'4" 190 Weddington HS) also picked up a win this week. He pitched for me this fall as well. I can't tell you how great it is to see these guys names popping up everywhere. I'm proud for them, and their parents. I hope they all continue to have this kind of success!

    TEAM 123 45 R H E
    CG--- 001 02 3 7 3
    PER-- 321 43 13 10 5

    WP - Robbie Byrd (1-0) 3IP, 4 HITS, 5K's, 0BB
    LP - Evan Belyeu (0-1)

    Leading Hitters:
CG- Colum Dever 2-3, run; Nichols Walters 2-3, Andrew Bosquet 1-3; Ricky Gutierrez 1-2

    PER - Cody Jones (SR/OF) 2-3, 3RBI, 2runs; Jerrod Moore (SR/SS) 2-3, RBI, run; Craig Reid (SO/2B) 2-3, 2 RBI, 2 runs; Robbie Byrd (SR/RHP) 1-2, 2 runs; Doug Weaver (JR/1B) 1-2, run, 2B, 3 RBI, Dustin Reaves (JR/3B) 1-1, run, RBI; Elliott Tolley 1-2, run, RBI

This was a sloppy game in the field with 8 errors in the frigid afternoon air in Roxboro. The Person bats made pretty good contact as Byrd and Gary Utley (SR/RHP) pitched solid games for the Rockets.

    Hopewell 11 - Myers Park 10

There's no way a game could be closer.

    Box Score
    Hopewell 11 runs, 11 hits, 6 errors, 4 LOB
Myers Park 10 runs, 10 hits, 3 errors, 9 LOB

A great game by both teams. The end of the game had Myers Park up to bat with the bases loaded and 2 outs (The batter in his previous at bats singled, doubled and tripled.

    Hickory at East Burke

    Hickory- 15
    East Burke- 6

Hickory hit the ball really well once again. Austin Johnson pitched a complete game and picked up the win for the Tornadoes. In the top of the first Derek Boliek hit a ball over the right fielders head and as he was almost at second, sprained his ankle severly. Some said it was broke others said it was just a very high sprain. But as I said yesterday this kid is tough-he stayed in the game and went 4-5 with 4 2Bs and 3 RBIs and could barely walk. This Hickory team looks very strong as they are now 3-0 and their ace from last year has yet to make an appearance.
