Myers Park overcame a shaky start to defeat another much improved team, Olympic, in ten innings, 8-7. Soph Matthew Hedberg threw 5 scoreless innings of relief to keep Myers Park in the game followed by senior Austin Campbell's 3 scoreless innings to earn the win. Junior Joe Hager singled in soph Tyler Powell, who had doubled to lead off the tenth. Powell also tripled in the game. Senior Robert Balsley also had a multi hit game with a double and a single. Myers Park travels to Hopewell tonight seeking new coach John Spencer's third victory this week

    Sanderson vs Athens Drive

    Athens Drive 8 Sanderson 2

    SAN 200 000 0 -- 2 3 1
    ADR 350 000 0 -- 8 10 0
    W--Snotherly. L--B.Burke.
    HR's: ADR--Snotherly 2.
    Leading hitters: SAN-- ADR--Hamm 2-3; Snotherly 2-3; Woodall 2-4. .

    R. Snotherly had 6 RBIs from his 2 home runs.
His first was a blazing line drive at about the 395 mark (400 ft centerfield). It was still going up when it went over the fence.
His next at bat in the 2nd inning was a high inside pitch that hit of the handle of his bat that hit the middle of the light pole in left field. Who knows how far that one would have gone.
