Hopewell hammered by Myers Park 12-2. Overman was fantastic on the hill in front of several scouts. Overman would have 10 k's while only giving up two hits in 5 innings of work. For the Titans Hunter Conley would find a whole down the right field line, followed by a homerun by Keith Peterson. The mustangs would hit the ball early and often, as the Titans would struggle fielding early on. The Titans D would make a couple nice double plays late in the game. The Mustangs would finish the night with 4 homeruns, 3 in the same inning. This Myers Park team looks to be for real.

 

Mallard Creek won it's opening game today against Berry High School. Game wasn't very competitive so i will not give score. Blaine Lewis had three hits, Tyler McCarthy had three hits and Brent Jones hit a home run. Tyler McCarthy was the winning pitcher. Every body in the lineup had at least two hits. The Mavericks play at East Gaston Saturday at 2pm

Great pitching turned in by Reggie Washington and some timely hitting by the Patton offense. A lot of talking about the Morganton little leaguers not being ready for the big boys,all the talking is over. These boys have worked hard and deserve some respect for all the hard work they put in! They are not the ones living in the past about the little league world series ,they just want everyone to know that, that was a great time and honor but that is not who these boys are anymore! These are some of the hardest working boys on the baseball field and just love the game. Again Patton-9,East Rutherford -4

Dylan Dickens (P) and Will Bullock (SG) battled in a pitcher's duel. All runs scored in the 6th inning. Both teams had but three hits apiece.

Hunter (SG) pitched the 7th for the save.

Trey Davis (P) had the only extra-base hit, a 2B.

 

Mt Pleasant vs NW Cabarruss

Garrett Furr was very impressive on the mound and at the plate.
Only gave up 2 hits and launched a bomb dead center. Brandon Burris also had two nice hits 2b and 3b. Didn't get the name of the other MP player that launcehd one over the lf fence, but it was a shot.

NW only two hits Jordan Phillips 1b & Michael Hagwood 2b

Mt. Pleasant looked solid. NW very shaky, giving up 8 runs in the 1st. NW Starting pitcher Taylor West sprained an ankle in pregame warm ups and is out for 3 weeks.

 

NW Cabarrus vs JM Robinson

Very good game with Corbin Cochran pitching 5 solid innings for Robinson and a 4-1 lead. The Trojans came back to tie it in the 6th and win it in the 7th 5-4. Rob Bain came in and shut down the Bulldogs in the final 3 innings. Nice rebound for a young team after a shaky start on Thursday.
