To add some on Leesville @ Cary

    Cary - 7
    Leesville - 4

    WP - Nick Kondor
    LP - Kelly
    S - Hunter Carr

    Leesville - Bible 2-4, Garces 2-3
    Cary - Carr 2-4 2runs, Stephen McKinney 3-4 2runs 1rbi, Percy Evans 1-2 2hbp 3rbi, Braden Wojiechowski 2-3 2rbis

Cary jumped out to an early lead led by the offense and starting pitcher, Eric Pilecki. Hunter Carr moved from SS to P for the save in the top of the 7th when Leesville began a 1 out rally. The top half of Cary's order looked strong with Stephen McKinney (junior) leading the way at 3-4 and a double. Seniors Percy Evans, Braden Wojiechowski and Carr all had solid days at the plate. All 15 players on Cary's roster saw meaningful playing time.

    Cary 1-0
    next game: @ Broughton 3/10

Did East Rowan play West Forsyth yesterday? If so, what was the final score? Thanks in advance.

Chris Overman had a perfect game through the first 14 batters in front of probably a dozen radar guns recording every pitch; a 2 out single in the fifth ended the perfecta followed by a homerun before he K'ed the final out of the five inning game. Myers Park had 14 hits; 3 sophs had 3 hits apiece; Grant Goodson, Matthew Hedberg and Tyler Powell. Powell had one of Myers Park's 4 homers. Also homering were senior Max Morrill, junior Brian Holberton and senior Robert Balsley. Myers Park finishes the first week for new Coach Spencer 3-0. Next week they entertain MallardCreek, travel to NorthMeck, and play their first conference game at Independence on Friday.

    South Stanly 8 - North Stanly 0

South Stanly beat defending RRC champs behind a strong pitching performance from UNCC bound Wes Hatley. Hatley threw 7 complete with 15k's allowing 1 hit and 1 BB. The team was led offensively by Ryne Poplin who was 3-4 and Jared Amen who was 2-4 with a grand slam and 5 RBI's.

It was a total team effort tonight with 7 of the 9 starters getting at least 1 hit.

    East Rowan vs West Forsyth

I could not find anything on this game in the Salisbury Post or Winston Salem Journal this morning. They were suppose to play last night. I'll make some calls and if I here anything will post.

I did see where Maverick Miles (South Rowan) hit for the cycle on opening day against North Rowan in an 8-1 victory. This kid is a really good junior who committed to High Point recently.
