For 8 years I've been following Ragsdale. I can't recall them ever struggle like they have this year. I guess all teams will have a blip every now and then...but it's just hard to imagine after all these years.

    3A Championship Game

    Erwin 16
    Asheville 10

    4A Championship Game

    AC Reynolds 18
    TC Roberson 9

Reynolds scores 11 runs in the top half of the 1st inning.

Just an outsider's view...for all the glamour that offense brings, I'm afraid it will come back to haunt many of these MAC teams. Once some of these teams come across good pitching, the end result may not look as pretty.

    SPC CHAMPIONS-NORTHWEST CABARRUS

NW beats AL Brown 12-4 in the championship game tonight at Veterans Field in Kannapolis. NW got HR's from Corey Seager (1) and Tanner Bigham (2) as the Trojans put up a total team effort at the plate. Weston Smith was the winning pitcher going five innings. Taylor West pitched the 6th & 7th. The Trojans will host SW Randolph Friday night in the first round of the State Playoffs.

For about two weeks now Ragsdale basically has one starting pitcher. Sparks is done with a torn ulna - Stone has a shoulder injury - pitched a couple innings tonight in relief for the first time in weeks. Can't win without pitching. It's pretty amazing they had won four in a row before tonight's loss with the staff they have now.

They probably have enough to upset somebody on the road in the first round - after that it will be up to the baseball gods.

    Lake Norman 1 Mooresville 0

Tyler Lewis threw 6 complete scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 by the same Mooresville player, 7k's and 2BB.
Taylor Thurber came in the 7th after the lead-off batter for Mooresville lead-off the 7th with a single off Lewis. Next batter bunted over runner for the first out. Next batter grounded out to first, but moved the tying run over to third. The next batter ended the game with a strike-out.
Ian Edmiston was 2-4, while Tyler Lewis, Nick Keith, Brad Chamberlain, Drew McNeil and Taylor Thurber each added one hit.

Mooresville pitcher Wes Dumford pitched a jem as well and definately deserved the win. I believe he gave up 7 hits, 9k's, 1BB, and only 1 run which came in the first inning.
Josh Holcomb had 3 hits for Mooresville and Josh Skidmore had 1.

Good luck to the Blue Devils and all of the remaining I-Meck teams.

Looking forward to facing you guys Monday night, Eagles.

I consider you guys our allies in the conference. We don't like Ragsdale and Glenn too much! LOL. Best of luck to you.
