    EM v Providence

Great game at Ed Bryant's Field of Dreams. Unbelievably the field held up through the torrential rains of the past three days and the storms held off long enough to get the game in. Unofficial score:

    P OOO OOO O2 2 7 0
    EM OOO OOO OO 0 3 0

Providence senior, Jordan Fuller kept the Eagles off balance for 6 innings and then Askey came in to finish things off. The Eagles had a lead off double in the bottom of the 7th, but couldn't push the winning run across the plate. Sophomore, Lou Trosch pitched the first 6 for the Eagles and kept the Panthers off the board, yielding only 4 hits thru 6 innings. Olen Little came in and finished for East Meck. The Panthers finally exploded in the top of the 8th for 3 hits and 2 runs. All in all a great game to end the season. Man, the SW4A is a tough conference (no rest for the weary, ever in this conference). I really hope they get the conference tourney in.

Wow, another tough, gritty loss by East Meck to a SW4A Powerhouse team. But, also, it was a great win by Providence: These guys simply refuse to lose.

Lou Trosch must have been dealing----he's been psyched to pitch this game for the past 3 days. It's amazing that he was able to get pumped up...only to have the rain dampen his enthusiasm and preparation the last few nights. He's a warrior!

If the Eagles can find consistent bats during the conf tournament, they can be scary, but that's been their achilles heel all year. I hope they are going into the tournament believing they can win it----because they can :usa:

    It's all up to them

    Garner 6 Southeast Raleigh 1

It wasn't pretty but we will take it. Garner was down 1-0 after the thrid inning and didn't score until the 6th inning with 2 outs. Southeast had an inning ending double play, but they throw to first was dropped and we scored all six with two outs.

Left 8 on base too. With the win Garner is now 12-10 overall and 8-5 on the season as they face East Wake on Friday with 3rd place in the conference on the line.

Southeast Raleigh is now 0-17 overall.

Phillip Myrick gets the win coming in to follow the starter Drew Gay (who did not allow an earned run). Kevin Tangerlini got the loss for the Bulldogs.

I don't know the situation, but I can certainly believe it after seeing them last night. I don't know if they were ALL freshman, but they looked VERY young, and inexperienced. A lot of unforced mistakes. Walks, HBP's, errors, etc. They walked the first 3 batters of the game, and hit another, and Conley scored 6 in the 1st. The Mooring kid that they have that is going to play quarterback @ Catawba is their ace I believe. He was in gym shorts in the dugout...
