Its that time of year so I too a trip to Four Oaks to see a couple of possible match ups in the playoffs. Both teams are very well coached and have some very good players. This was a very good game.

I showed up early as usual and watched both teams prepare for the game. Infield , bp in the cage etc. Both teams took care of business. The JV teams played before the varsity and it went into extra innings and it was sr night so the game did not start untill around 7:45. I left Four Oaks with several impressions on these two teams. One there coaches do an outstanding job teaching baserunning , bunting and all the little things. Two, both of these teams have some very good HS players. And the biggest impression I left with was Aaron Parnell. Parnell goes about his business like a pro. Stretching , throwing the way he takes infield etc etc. The guy is a flat out stud. He made three or four plays in this game that were outstanding. Scouts say "Who excites you" , thats what your looking for. Everything about this kid tells you that that is the way it is supposed to be done. I left Four Oaks and made the 1:30 drive home thinking about the way this kid approaches the game and plays the game. There is absolutely no me or I in this kids game. He lets his arm glove and bat do the talking. If we do not end up playing either one of these teams in the playoffs thats fine with me. Parnell made the trip worth it regardless.

First off let me see that I agree 100% with Coach May, Aaron Parnell is worth the price of admission, just to watch in the field. He is a great kid, and a tremendous ballplayer, he is first class.

    Now back to Swain:

WP: Crawley 5IP, 1ER, not sure of K's and H's

    LH: Shuler 2-3 2rbi's, Hipp 2-3, Allman 1-3 2 Rbi's, Bennett 2-3

Swain goes to 17-4 overall 13-0 conference.
