    Bunn 2
    Roanoke Rapids 0

    WP: J. Tanner 7 IP, 3 hits, 14 K
    LP: T. Deloach 7IP, 3 hits, 12 K

This was a great pitchers duel between the senior Tanner and the soph. Deloach.

RR is now 12-9 overall and 9-1 in the NCC.

Bunn is now 8-1 in the NCC with a game Monday against Southern Vance. If Bunn wins there will be a tie for first place and RR and Bunn will play Tues night at Bunn to decide the #1 seed for the state playoffs.

    week 10

My comments about Middle Creek this week apparently upset some Middle Creek players and parents. I only posted what I saw on the field. I did not say they were not a good team, I did not attack any of your players, I said the team did not impress me that particular day. I said your pitcher was throwing change ups in the dirt. Athens could not lay of these pitches.
I do not think Middle Creek's coach would disagree with anything I said, a lackluster effort on that particular day. He is the one that called time out and chewed out his infield. Base running errors did hurt the team. It was not a personel attack on any player or the Middle Creek team.
I am sorry so many people are sensitive but if I did upset someone, then my apology goes out to your entire team.
They must have played better the following night against a strong Lee County team and they spanked Athens Drive on Friday to sweep that series. I congratulate you on winning the Tri 8 regular conference championship. And I was impressed by your team on Friday night. You played baseball the way it was supposed to be played.
