Petty had warmed up behind the dugout the inning before.

Huge win for the Wonders! Now it's time to jump on the Lake Norman bandwagon (for a day, at least!!).

Does Patrick Adams sell tickets before the game too?

    Central Cab. 5 Independence 4

CC showed why they are in first place. They were down 4-1 and scored 4 in the 7th to win 5-4. Farry pitched a good game for Independence but I think he ran out of gas. My hats off to CC. On the JV side Independence won 7-0 with Bray pitching a complete game shut out. Independence JV's finish first in their conference with only one loss.

    Friday night at East Rutherford

    East Rutherford 6 - Chase 5

Travis Haynes hits a single for the game winning RBI in the 6th.
With the win East Rutherford wins the regular season Midwest 2A Conference. Great game by both teams!

Chase is now tied with Bandys for 2nd place in the conference standings and plays a rainout game today at Chase against Newton-Conover to complete conference play.

This post is to inform bigIfan and all other MEGA8 JV fans that North Meck JV team finished their season with only one (1) loss also. Spliting with Independence...so before you go out and have your T-Shirts printed up, or trophy engraved you might want to be sure it reads "Co-Champs". This post was not to be nasty, only to insure that North's team gets credit for a great season too. It is a shame that because of all the rain, two (2) hour time limits, and the availabilty of Umpires to reschedule games these players lost out. There where 18 games on North schedule and North was only allowed to play 12 complete games. It would be interesting to find out the final conference records for all MEGA8 JV teams, along with who they didn't get to play.

North MEGA8 record 8 - 1 did not get to finish game with Hopewell (score 3 - 3 in 8th inning) or play West Meck twice.
Season record 11 - 1 and did not get to play Butler (twice) nor Providence

    North Henderson 6, Avery 4
    Rosman 11, Hiawassee Dam, 4
Bessemer City 9, Polk County 2
    Cherryville 5, Polk County 1
Cherryville 5 Hendersonville 1 (these 2 tied in the loss column)

Hayesville defeated Swain twice. Don't have scores. Hayesville should now be the conference champ, with Swain 2nd and Rosman 3rd the best I can tell.
