It's a great team and Coach Suggs is one of the best in the State. You should talk to rcbballfan about his experience with them

    South Granville

South Granville won its 14th consecutive game by beating Northern Vance 14-1 in Henderson Monday. Chris Luck got the start and went three innings giving up one hit one unearned run on a throwing error and 3 BB. Mike Robbins came in and pitched two scoreless innings to close it out in five. Todd Helmer continued his unreal senior season at the plate going 3-4 with three doubles he is hitting around .600 on the year. Jon Lynch went 2-2 with his 2nd hr of the year and Dominique Ester homered as well. Brice Hursey went 2-2 for the Vikings as well. South Granville had 14 hits on the day and NV had three. South Granville is now 19-3 12-0. The Vikings will host Roanoke Rapids Tuesday night. South Granville can wrap up the Northern Carolinas 2-A conference championship with a win.

Isn't he affiliated with the White Sox. I might be thinking about Bill Capps, but I remember meeting him one day and he told me. But to tell you the truth BB, it seems every summer coach is affiliated at some level...many as a bird scout.

    Midwest 2A Conf.
    # 7 Seed Newton-Conover 10 # 2 Bandys 7

This seeds Bandys as # 2 in the conf. and means they will go to West Henderson next week in the opening round of the state playoffs, putting the # 5 ranked team (Bandys) vs # 1 (WH).

    Freddy Suggs

Actually....Freddy is affiliated with the MLB scouting bureau not any particular team. I know that lots of college coaches take Freddy's word as the "gospel" when it comes to talent. Not a bad guy to be playing for, eh? RSPM

    Lincolnton 9
    West Lincoln 6

West Lincoln blew a 2 run lead late in the game. Unable to turn 3 ground balls into even one out was a major factor in Lincolnton's comeback.

Freshman pitched for West Lincoln, Jake or Jacob, didn't catch his last name. Tall lefty, looks like he's still growing. Look for good things from him in the future.

Bright spots for West Lincoln were Paul Finger (Jr., S/S) 3-4 with a 2B, 3B and HR. Came close to hitting for the cycle. Catcher for West (Chris ??)also hit one out.

You should also check out West Lincoln's web site, one of the best I've seen.

I believe Lincolnton plays East Rutherford today.

    No doubt ...

Olympic would do well and or did! I expected them to place a notch higher inthe conf I believe based on my earlier predictions! Never gave it a second thought! Why you ask? Coach Bob Rhodes is in my opinion Conf Coach of the Year! period! :) Just my 2 cents worth... AlWAYS a tough opponent YET never has the talent as those on the east side and look at the results... Just my 2 cents!
