Thunder, lightning, lots of hail and rain rolled in about 4:15 and the games were postponed until this afternoon - same times 5:00 & 8:00.

    SPC TOURNAMENT

SPC Tournament began Mon. night with #2 Sun Valley defeating #7 Parkwood 4-1. Yesterdays action began with the #4 JM Robinson-#5 Anson Co. game. After a couple of rain delayes the game finished with Robinson taking the win 6-1. The second game of the night, #3 Weddington-#6 Concord, only got through the 1st inning before all heck let loose with the weather. The score was Concord 4, Weddington 3, with Concord taking the field to begin the second when play was suspended. That game will resume today at 4:00pm. Thirty minutes after the completion of this game Sun Valley will take on the winner in the first semifinal game. Thirty minutes after the completion of that game, #1 Piedmont will meet Robinson in the second semifinal game. The final is still on for tomorrow night at 7:30 at Sun Valley.

North Davidson plays West Forsyth on Thursday at 7:00 at North Davidson.

Winner gets the one seed and loser gets the two seed out of the CPC.

Should be a good game tomorrow night in Welcome.

    Tri County 3A Final

    E Randolph 10
    Ragsdale 4

Eastern earned their third win of the season over Ragsdale breaking open a 4-4 tie in the 5th with back to back homers by RJ Lassiter and Scott Riddle against starter Caitlin Carter, then Riddle knocked a grand slam over the left field wall in the 6th against Andy Smith to finish Ragsdale off. Carter(5-1), Ragsdale's sophomore third starter suffered his first loss of the season. Carter tied the score in the 5th with a sac fly but his arm gave out in the bottom of the inning on the back to back homers.

Jared Davis got the win in relief for ER. I'm not sure who started for ER. I didn't get there until the start of the 5th. I know Ragsdale took an early lead on back to back homers by Trevor Mullins and Jake Kensmoe. Apparently Mullins got robbed in the first by Lassiter who climbed the center field wall at the 385 mark but Mullins came back in the third and hit it 400 feet the next time.

Ragsdale is 20-7 on the season now and will face NW Carrabus on the road as the conferences's #2 seed.
