Any word on Alexander Central/North Iredell Tuesday, and Alexander Central/St. Stephens on Wednesday? Just curious as I would like to post the results on our website. Thanks!

    Piedmont 8 Mt. Pleasant 6

Piedmont had to overcome sloppy play for the come-from behind win after committing 7 errors in the field. Mt. Pleasant started a lefty (Sorry I didn't get his name) that threw well, keeping the Piedmont hitters off balance most of the night. Congratulations to Dustin Belk who persevered and kept throwing strikes to get his first varsity win. Piedmont next plays at Robinson @ 4:00 Monday.

    Milbrook 11, Durham Riverside 15

Brown started for Milbrook and had at least a dozen scouts there to see him give up 6 in the first inning to Riverside. I wish for him that he had better defense behind him. Brown and Dail each homered for Milbrook, with Dail hitting 2 2-strike bombs, one of which may still be in flight. Pitching wasn't there for Riverside either, though, and the game was tied at 9 in the 5th, so Brown got a no-decision. It was a slugfest (6 HR between the teams), but it was entertaining.

This was Riverside's third game this week and their pitching showed it. Riverside is now 4-0. Tofaleti has homered in all four games for Riverside. As a team, Riverside has hit 11 home runs and won by scores of 12-6, 18-7, 7-3, and today's 15-11.

    Clemson vs. UNC

    Charlotte Christian 2
    vs.
    Fort Mill 1

    WP: Bard

In what has been the best pitching performance's in the state thus far, North Carolina Signee Jared Bard squared off against Clemson committee Hamilton Bennett of Fort Mill, Bennett is probably the best LHP in SC and NC. Both guys were straight shoven for 6 and 7 innings, Hamilton struck out 8 pitched 6 innings. Bard struck out 9 and pitched a complete game, 1 hitter. Both guys were upper 80's low 90's and featured great offspeed stuff.

Graham Fronk put CCS on the board with a HR in the 5th inning, but Fort Mill answered with a walk, error and sac fly to even it up, in the 7th with men on 2nd and 3rd 1 out, charles bradley hit a towering sac fly to give christian the W. Great win for christian against a very good team, hopefully this will get em goin

CCS plays at home against Socastee HS, Mrytle Beach saturday at 1pm

    Frustrating Night in Wilmington

Lumberton fell to 1-4 last night losing to Ashley 3-0. Hunter Ford tossed a no hitter in a very workmanlike manner. Lumberton has now only scored two runs in its four losses. Very frustrating night for Lumberton lefty Mac Read eho had eletric stuff. He tossed three-hit ball with 14 strikeouts in six innings. A misplayed grounder that should have ended the inning led to three unearned runs in the second. Mac must have been irritated because he then K'd 14 of the last 15 Ashley hitters.
By the way, I would have bet good money that Sam Brown at Millbrook would not have given up nine runs ALL YEAR.
