    Ragsdale 6
    SW Randolph 1

Soph David Coffey ( yes DAVID COFFEY :icon16: ) pitches six innings of three hit ball for his second win of the season.

Ragsdale left a ton of men on base. Could have been much worse. Got there in the fourth so I don't have any hitting stats.

Ragsdale 4-1 (1-1) on the season.

    Butler @ West Meck

    Butler 11 - West Meck 1

Mullis, Harrell, and Robinson combined for the win. Many Butler batters contributed and West Meck issued many walks. Several outstanding defensive plays at 3rd by Wixted. Good team win. Next game -Ardrey Kell @ Butler on 3/13.

    West Stanly/ Piedmont

West Stanly 11 Piedmont 2. Nathan Furr picks up the win in relief of Mathew (Jubal) Burrelson . This was a close game until the 5th inning, when Piedmont's starting pitcher ran into trouble. I believe his name is Sedenbury, not sure on the spelling. After that Piedmont's pitching struggled. West now moves to 4-0 for the season.

    Fred T Foard 4 Bandys 1

Behind the two hit pitching effort of Trent Rothlin, Fred T Foard evens it's conference record at 1-1. Rothlin struck out 10 in another dominating performance. Aaron King had three hits to lead the Tigers while Rothlin added two hits of his own.

    South Caldwell 9
    Watauga 2

The score doesn't reflect how the game was played. Sever led off the game with a home run to right field. Watauga then took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd or 3rd 2-1 scrapping two runs off of Bumgardner. South then responded with 2 runs taking a 3-2 lead, and did not slow down from there. Bumgardner topped out at 95 on the guns and probably had 8 -10 strikeouts...maybe more. I dont have much stats.

    WP - Bumgarder
    LP - Ammann

    Watauga - Moyer 1-3, 2B, 1 rbi
    Hardee 1-2, 2B, 1 rbi

South Caldwell - Sever homered , thats all I remember

    Whiteville High School

Whiteville went up against last year 1A Eastern State Champions and 1A State runner ups.

    Whiteville 8 West Columbus 1

    WHS 4-0 and WC 2-3

Robbie Penny pitched all seven innings, 16 K's, 2 hits, 1 walk, 1 reach on error and 1 run. Fast ball maintain between 88 to 90 mph! Gave up run in the top of the seventh.
Note: In the last two games, Robbie has struck out 27 out of the 34 outs. He's very impressive.....and did I mention, he still an unsigned senior!

Whiteville batting: All nine starters reached base at least once and 7 out of the 9 had hits against a pitcher that was throwing a big curve ball and off speed pitch

    Sprandon McHoney (Soph) 2-4, 2B, 2 runs
    Robbie Penny (Sr) 1-2, 2BB, 2 runs
    Michael Wright (Jr) 1-3, 2B, 1 run, 1 rbi
Charlie Gore (Sr) 1-4, 3B, 2 rbi, 2 runs, 1 reach on error
Ben Deans (Jr) 1-3, 1 run, 1 reach on error
Trey (Sr) 1-3, 1 reach on error
    Quan (?) 1-3, 1 FC
Chris Harris (Jr) 0-3, 1 run, 1 reach on error
Big hitter Lloyd Enzor (Jr) 0-3, 1 run, 1 reach on error

Whiteville will return to action at home Tuesday against West Bladen at 5 p.m. Junior Michael Wright will be the starting pitcher.

I picked up the scores but not the story. Always nice to see what happened and why.
