The Cougars evened their record at 2-2 thanks in large part to a five-run third inning. Evan Dechant (1-1) picked up his first pitching win of the year by striking out five and walking none in four innings.

Brevard 11, R-S Central 3
Nathan Hyatt went 3-for-4 and Kyle Farmer, Luke Otto and Chris Mullenex all hit home runs for Brevard (2-1). Blue Devils pitcher Andrew Blackwell (1-0) struck out two and walked one in six innings of work.

North Buncombe 15, Pisgah 5
Patrick Shelton and David Crane each drove in three runs and homered for the Black Hawks (2-1). Cody Deyer went 2-for-3 with a home run. Pitcher Luke Brown got ample support - 14 runs in the first three innings.
