    new & winning

Considering this is their first year with a senior class they are doing quite well in all sports. The win against Millbrook was their first varsity baseball win. Since then they have won 2 more in a row. Panther Creek and Wake Forest.
In all baseball games they have played this year one thing they have done is put the bat on the ball.

I got to watch this game with my good buddy "Braves"....don't have the "stats" because I thought he was keeping them.

Good win for the young AK Knights as the game went down to the bottom of the 7th tied (yes Braves, you left an inning to soon) and AK got a game winning shot down the right field line from one of the Stetson brothers (I think Ryan) to score the winning run from 2nd base.

Well played game on both sides other than AK had a little problem running the bases. Jordan Darnell pitched very well up until the 5th where he just ran out of gas and Ryan Markam (sp) game in for relief and the win.

Braves it was good to see you and the boys...TJ looks great. Hope to catch up with you at Providence towards the end of the week.

Tj, You know I have a certain place in my heart for hard-throwin' strike-out pitchers with the so-called "live arm". 14-15 pitches an inning is a very good thing. One pitch ground-outs, however, are truly gifts from above. :newsmile56:

Good luck tomorrow at Charlotte Christian :quiet:

Now Dbacks- I have never kept a stat in my life...ever! Well, that's not entirely true. I know the stats of how many times my kids have their hands in my pockets fishing for money during a game. People don't believe me when I tell them that TJ is almost 230 lbs now...but you saw him in my pocket and he didn't come out with just money; he came out with my wallet!

I hope people realize just how good North Meck is; then the result of Ardrey Kell's win would be even more impressive. In my opinion NM, potentially, is a Top 10 team. They had their share of baserunning blunders as well. But the kiddie korp at AK showed they are fundamentally sound to be such a young team.

This was a big win for AK and should help their confidence against Butler next Tuesday. But if they are going to be a force this year (and I think they can), they need to win the close games and they need to develop a deeper staff.

Dbacks...it was great to see you again!
