McDowell lost to Newton Conover by 3 or 4 points. MHS led the entire game until the last minute. MHS was up by 11 points early in the 4th quarter. We struggled against there press at the end of the game and had way to many turnovers. But this team is young and maybe by the time conference play begins the ball handling will improve.

Newton-Conover is a pretty good team. It will be interesting to see how they fare in the CVAC 2A-3A.

As far as McDowell goes, they are young and it will take time. It would also help if the Titans can shake the injury bug. Insert both Evans and Kincaid, and you have a completely different squad in comparision to what took the floor last night. I also like the new high-low post offense that Church put in. I think it fits the players well. The cross-court passes and the backdoor passes needs to be worked on, but on the otherhand give Newton-Conover credit. They played a 2-3 zone which is the perfect defense to play against McDowell's offensive scheme. I think the Titans will have a field day on teams that try to play man-to-man. Greene being the high post, is more than able to beat his guy to the basket on his own.
