Didn't see it listed but Piedmont beat Anson 2-0 at Piedmont on Tuesday night. Heard the Piedmont starter threw a 2 hitter but I can't remember who the starter was.

    Person 4, JF Webb 1

    Game at Person

    JFW - 000 001 0 1 2 1
    PER - 010 012 x 4 5 2

    WP - Dylan Dickens (1-1) (SOPH) 7 IP (79 pitches) 1 run, 2 hits, 0 ER 7 K's 1 BB
    LP - Dylan Newton (1-1) 5+ IP, 3 runs, 2 ER, 3 hits 5 K's 3 BB

    Leading Hitters:

PERSON - Marc Davis 2-2, 2B, RBI; Cody Ellis 1-4, RBI, Trey Davis 1-3, 2B, RBI; Clint Holt 1-2, RBI

WEBB- Ryan Allen 1-3; Antwan Thorpe 1-3

    Records:
    WEBB 2-1
    PERSON 2-2

Person played solid D in the field as Cody Ellis and Stephen Wright made some very solid plays in the field against a Webb team that hits it hard. Antwan Thorpe for Webb is a player... Great range and can hit it hard. Dylan Newton had a solid outing for Webb, and Trey Talley had a solid game behind the plate for Webb.

Person is scheduled to play South Granville in Roxboro, Friday, weather permitting, but it doesn't look good for that though

    Independence 21, Berry 2

Obviously Berry overmatched, but Indy is much improved this year.

They are still a very young team, but they have a bunch of good looking athletes, above average team speed, and they catch the baseball.

Coach Dykema is doing a nice job with these boys. They have an approach at the plate and are not just up there hacking away.

After dropping their opener 6-5 to Porter Ridge and a last inning rally, they have posted two mercy rule wins this week. It will get tougher tomorrow against MP.

CF-JR. Cody Starnes is a good looking athlete. Has grown a lot and is a glider in center that covers a lot of ground with an above average arm. Middle infield combo of So. Carson Plyer and So? Brandon Wolf make the Patriot defense strong up the midddle.

I like Dino Suritous. Hustler. Starting pitcher tonight that threw three hitless innings, usually doing a good job in LF.

With a little pitching, this team is cable of winning enough games to qualify for a playoff spot.

Maiden Blue Devils at Newton Red Devils

    Maiden 15
    Newton-Conover 4

Maiden(2-0) hit the ball hard tonight causing a lot of Newton errors and walks. The Blue Devils were lead at the plate by S. Jordan, J. Sizemore, and J. Markley with multiple hits. Markley, Kelly, Huffman pitched very well tonight to help get the Blue Devils another CVAC win. Go Blue Devils!!!

I haven't posted much this season because of school and work and that junk, but I wanted to comment and say this is a great win for West Stokes. Blaine Durham is only a freshman and to hit a homerun off the #4 4A team in the state is a big deal. It was his second homer on the year.
