    Hill Crest (South Carolina): 0

Luke Bard threw 5.1 innings of no hit baseball on a cold, windy night down in Simpsonville, SC against tradionally strong 4A Hill Crest. Bard retired the first batter in the sixth before giving up a ground ball that eluded a diving Trey Laney at second base. Andy Clifford came on to get the last two outs in the sixth and Jake Watson closed out the seventh.

It was a pitcher's duel for much of the game, before Jake Watson delivered a one out double in the fifth to score Justin Parker, who had walked and stolen second. Parker then hit a solo home run in the sixth to increase the lead.

The Knights move to 3-2 on the year and now head to Florida on Sunday to play in the Westminster Sunshine Classic in Ft. Lauderdale. After last night and nearly freezing to death, the warm sunshine of south florida can't come soon enough.

WP: Luke Bard (1-0) Save: Jake Watson
    LP: Ryan Short

    Northern's bats waking up!

    :trophy:
That's 2 good victories this week for Northern Nash over D.H.Conley! They have rebounded well since being no-hit by Ragsdale. Coming soon to a Nash County stadium near you: Rocky Mount vs. Northern Nash (Tyler Joyner vs. Hobbs Johnson) I'm looking forward to that one. Crank up the hot dogs & popcorn!

Tuesday: Central Cabarrus 5, North Meck 1
Dalton Shuford gave up only a couple of hits and struck out 15 (I believe that's right). Also hit a 3-run jack late to help them win. Big time performance, one of the best I've seen at Central.

Thursday: Central Cabarrus 5, Concord 1
Hamilton hit a big HR to right to help them win. Central is 3-1 and playing well.
