    Classic pitchers duel in Lumberton. UNC-bound SV junior Brandon Huffman outduels Lumberton soph Thomas Williams . SV scratched across their run in the top of the seventh.

    Pretty exciting game tonight at Southern. North Davidson hit 3 homeruns but only 2 counted. On a 2 run shot, the batter jumped right over home plate by mistake. The Patriots appealed and he was called out. A big run was taken off the board and an out was recorded.

    In the bottom of the 6th the Patriots were down 6-5 with 2 outs. Eddie Sappelt was at the plate with runners at 2nd and 3rd. He singled to plate both runners. The Patriots added 2 more after that. The Black Nights threatened in the 7th but behind Jeremy Stalker on the mound the Patriots survived.

    Southern is now 2-1 and North Davidson falls to 0-3.

    Rose 5 Rocky Mount 4 in 9 innings. McIntosh picked up the win in relief. Heck of a battle between Johnson(RM) and Merritt (JHR) through 6.
