    Brandon Donahue

    AK pitcher...Donahue has no hitter broken up in 6th inning. Finishes with 14 K's...also 2-3 at the plate with 2 dbls. Why he is not mentioned in the "Disturber" as a Tuesday Top Performer...I don't know...

    Sanderson 4 Wakefield 1

    Sanderson improves to 4 and 1 on the year as the defeated Wakefield 4 to 1 in their CAP 8 opener. Tyler Hardee opened the scoring in the 3rd with an rbi single, but Wakefield tied the score at 1 in the 4th with back to back 2b by Jake Merzigian and Tom Dearmitt. In the fifth inning Daniel Ferrell singled up the middle on a drawn in infield to plate 2 runs for the Spartans and chase Wakefield starter Evan Brabrand. Matt Koehler dropped a great safety squeeze down in the sixth to plate the other Spartan run. Daniel Dulaney pitched lights out in only allowing 3 hits and 1 run with 9 K's in a complete game.

    Mallard Creek 2 - Lake Norman 0

    Another pitching duel in the Imeck conference, Mallard Creek pitcher Krouse goes the distance and gets the shutout win on a very cold night at Lake Norman. Lake Norman starter, Jon Stires goes 6 innings allowing 2 hits 12 k's and no runs leaves the game tied 0-0 going into the 7th. A couple of Mallard Creek hits in the top of the 7th and then holds the home team scoreless in the bottom of the inning and wins 2-0. Mallard Creek short stop Kirk Morgan went down with a leg injury in the 7th and all indications are that Kirk will be ok but may take a couple of weeks to recover. We are all hoping for a quick return.

    Too many unearned runs for the Bulls to overcome. Cox Mill holds off a late game rally by the Bulls with the outstanding pitching of reliever, Josh Bottenfield. Another "brisk" night for baseball. Brrrr

    @Lake Norman last night......

    Sounds like a heck of a game. Stires is getting better and stronger. A tough lefty. But the story emerging out of the IMECK seems to be Mallard Creek who remains undefeated and nobody is scoring many runs against them.
    Only question now is will they miss an injured Morgan?
