    MP JV updates???

I know they had AK JV on schedule last week but have not heard how they made out. Would be interested to hear as that is a game between 2 pretty good JV teams in the SW4A. MP JV team sounds like a good team that is giving the other SW4A JV teams fits.

    MP JV team

More power to the MP JV, but when you start 6 juniors on your JV team, bragging about whipping up on other JV squads made of 9th/10th graders is a little over the top.

your point is very valid. there are actually only 4 juniors on the JV roster(and 1 on varsity that had 13 returning Srs)......most games 3 of them have been on the starting roster......1 is out with a head injury now......another has been moved to varsity but still playing with JV

posts were mostly if not all just reporting scores.......they did lose 3 games Prov, AK and Marvin Ridge.....did comeback and beat S meck last week.....best of just to W Meck.....from what I read off to a great season

Interesting...I did not realize JV teams had juniors playing for them. Thought they were only made up of 9th and 10th graders. Not passing judgment - Just didn't realize a coach could (or would) keep juniors on a JV team.

AK JV is 11-0. Beat MP by 10. Roster is 60% Freshman.

    pipeline....

Congrats to the successful JV programs out there....the bottom line is most successful public school baseball programs in the Charlotte area are led by a strong varsity coach who has the benefit of strong youth baseball programs in his school district boundaries. The feeder systems for south Charlotte should keep AK and Providence in the money for the foreseeable future. Redrawing the school boundaries in north Mecklenburg to accomodate incoming Hough HS will have a big impact in the near future, particularly for Hopewell as the feeder youth programs in the new Hopewell school district are not as strong as previously enjoyed.

It hard to imagine a circumstance in the near term that would weaken AK's baseball success, unless a new school is built in the area again and that would only present a temporary setback. There are many examples of new schools only having a temporary impact and in fact often adding significant new rivalries and energy (AK/Providence and Weddington/Cuthbertson for example).

Agree about Hough and the impact that will be felt by Hopewell (as well as North)...Hough JV team is 8-0 this year with 50-60% freshmen. Solid group of young ballplayers...
