Close game that could have gone either way. News flash; Ben Fultz DID NOT hit a HR. But he had a back side double for the winning run and a single. Fultz 2-3, Anderson 2-2, Stone 1-3 & 2 run HR, Sparks 2-3. Matt Orth pitched 6 for SWG and looked good. SWG played good D with only 1 meaningless error. These two teams get together and it could go either way. SWR #2 hitter hit a 2 run HR. I think his name is Andrew Madden. Defensively Whited and Fultz were strong up the middle, Anderson made a nice play as well as Armwood in left turning two doubles into singles. Hodges and Carstens made good plays at 3rd. Error free for the Tigers tonight.

Billy Stone went 4 to get the win scattering 3 hits and one 2 run HR. Tyler Southcott closed out the final 3 innings for the 2nd night in a row facing 1 over the minimum. After breaking his nose last night on a pickoff play Stone came back strong with 4 good innings and a 2 run HR.

what a ball game. It was Ragsdale-SWG so of course it was a tight, down to the wire one run ball game. I believe that makes six straight games (maybe more) where the game was decided by one run.

It was a battle of lefties tonight as Billy Stone picked up his third win of the season. Stone went 4 1/3 scaterring three hits and four walks, striking out six. Freshman Matt Orth took the mound for SWG. Good looking pitcher went six innings, striking out nine with only one walk. He gave up eight hits but he had many of the Tiger batters guessing tonight. Kid has a future for sure.

Ragsdale took a 2-0 lead in the second. Ben Fultz beat out a infield grounder with some serious speed then came home as Stone helped his cause with a blast over the left center field wall. SW came right back with their own two run shot in the third to tie it up. Ragsdale got the lead back next inning after DeSean Anderson drew a one out walk, was singled to second on a two out single by Walt Sparks then came home as Ben Fultz took a curve ball the other way with a double to left.

That was it for the scoring. One of the big stories for Ragsdale was another strong relief outing by Tyler Southcott. He pitched the final 2 2/3. Came in with two on, one out and got a double play grounder on his first pitch. Gave up a hit and struck out two the rest of the way. The kid throws strikes and all in great spots.

For the Tigers - Walt Sparks was 2-3, both two out singles. DeSean Anderson was 2-2 with a walk and a run. Billy Stone was 2-3 with the 2 run HR. Pitched well, made some big plays at first - all with a broken nose. Kid is a warrior. Ben Fultz continues his tear. 2-3, double, run and RBI. Batting close to .700 through five games.

All in all another well played game between two fierce rivals. Ragsdale now 5-0, 3-0 with NW Guilford up next.
