Northwood came back from a 5-0 deficit to get the win. Sorry I don't have more details but I was watching my DD play her first varsity softball game as a freshman... she went 4-4, 2 2B, with 4 rbi's!

CVAC Foard 14 West Caldwell 3 (5 innings)

Pitching and bats carried Foard to the win over WC. Andrew Wyant picks up win and has a "night" at the plate, 3/4 with 2 3 run home runs 6rbi's. Landon Isenhour adds a 3 run home run and Robert McKinney 2/3, hits a 2 run shot. DJ McBee, Mitchill Henderson, and Chad Rothlin have 2 hits each also. Overall a good night for the tigers hitting, fielding and throwing could have been better.

    S Alamance 8

Great ball game in Jamestown tonight in finally some great baseball weather. I got there in the bottom of the second. Ragsdale was down 4-2and loaded the bases with no outs but only managed to bring in one more run. The S Alamance starter, a lefty ( Murphy I believe) had some great off speed stuff tonight. S Alamance chased Ragsdale starter Billy Stone after two but Ryan Andrejco kept the Patriots scoreless the next two.

Ragsdale got hot in their half of the fourth. Cody Myers led it off with a solo homer to left center to make it 4-4. HBP for McBride was followed by a single to Desean Anderson, a double (looked like a HR for sure) to Kyle Brandenburg and singles from Ben Fultz and Nate Cash and a sac fly by Billy Stone scored 4 more to put Ragsdale up 8-4 after 4.

Andrejco got two quick ground outs to start the fifth, then gave up four two out runs, the big blow a 2 run homer by Jordan? Gross.

David Desjardins only lasted a third inning in the sixth as a single and couple of walks loaded the bases. Bennett Hixson relieved getting two big outs with help from DeSean Anderson in center who's great throw kept a runner on third with a one out fly to center.

SS Kyle Brandenburg pitched the 7th for Ragsdale. He doesn't pitch a lot and is a side armer who loves the low strike and with a high strike ump tonight I thought he might be in trouble. But after a one out walk, he picked the runner off first, then struck out the last batter.

In the bottom of the 7th Ragsdale won it on four one out singles. Cody Myers started us off, followed by Nick McBride and Desean Anderson. Maness sent Myers home on Anderson's single but he was thrown out at the plate. Probably should have kept him at third, but can't fault a coach trying to win the game. But then Brandenburg had a big two strike, two out hit that got by third base for the game winning RBI.

Ragsdale now 6-1 on the season. Great to see different players stepping up every night. Branderburg with the win is 1-0. I believe Crawford took the loss for S Alamance. Next up Trinity at home Friday night.

    CVAC FOARD 11 NEWTON 5

Newton jumps out to a 4 to 2 lead on foard and maintains it going into bottom of 5th. Tiger fans, players, and bats wake-up and erupt for 8 runs after a hit batter. Robert McKinney (soph) picks up his 1st varsity win going 6 1/3 innings. Leading hitters for tigers were DJ Mcbee 3/4,Chad Rothlin 2/4 bb, Andrew Wyant 2/2 bb(int), hbp, 2 rbi, Mckinney 1/3 triple 3 rbi's. On the down side tiger starting 3rd baseman Gage Ward had to be taken off the field by ambulance in the 2nd inning due to a knee injury.
