    Ragsdale 8 Southeast Guilford 2

A tight 2-1 pitchers duel into the bottom of the sixth was blown open when Ragsdale sent 11 to the plate scoring six runs on three pitchers. Austin Moyers pitched a good game but he hit his pitch count even though he still looked strong. Ragsdale scored those six on 4 hits, several walks and a couple of wild pitches.

Catlin Carter pitched six strong innings for the win.

And damn was it cold and windy tonight. I don't thing Barry Bonds could have hit one out in that wind. Glad I only saw the last 3 1/2 innings because I couldn't have sat there for all seven.

Ragsdale is 7-0 on the season and 1-0 in the conference. Next up is away at Southwestern Randolph on Friday.

Other Mid Piedmont scores from tonight

    Randleman 15
    Trinity 2 5 innings
    WP - Bunting LP- Hickemell

    E Randolph 12
    SW Randolph 1

    WP - Beasley LP- Kennedy

    Durham Riverside
    12, Person 5

I didn't get to see the game in person, so I can't give real details. Duncan got the win. Tofaleti hit another HR, his 5th, keeping his streak alive of a HR in every game so far this season.

    Riverside now (5-0, 1-0)
    Person now (4-1, 0-1)

PER- Weaver (2-3, HR, RBI); Byrd (1-4, HR, 3RBI) Tolley (1-3)

I told you guys before that Riverside could flat out hit it. The Rockets defense played poorly, you can't give a good team 5 extra outs and expect to play well. The wind played havoc on the outfielders, but the Riverside outfielders adjusted better than we did. They flat out deserved to win the game and are very deserving of the hype they have been getting lately. Though the wind was definitely a factor, I make no excuses. They used the conditions to their advantage and we didn't, bottom line.

The best part is we have a 14 game Conference season, so 1 bad game does not kill you. We will be back...

    Lumberton 6 South View 2

    WP- Read
    LP- Willis

Very big win in the first conference game for a very young Lumberton team. Neither team hit much but Lumberton bunched its hits and took advantage of some SV errors. Read shut down SV despite not having his best stuff on a very windy night. Read scattered five hits and induced about ten weak grounders to go along with 7 Ks.

I was at the West Davie game last night. What an environment for High School baseball. The crowd was excited about this big rival. Lots of people there. West won the game 4-1. Holt on the mound had 12 k's and only walked 1. Matt Sapp was 3-3 for West and played a great shortstop. Stewart Corrhier, and Howard each had a hit for Davie.

It's great to see that Addison is back in the lineup and doing so well.
