    North Forsyth at J.H. Rose

    NF 010 100 01 - 3 6 0
    GR 000 000 22 - 4 2 0

    Addison Johnson, Jamie Serber (8) and Stefan Morris;
Ryan Greapal, Garrett Bullock (6), Matt McLawhorn (7) and Josh Maclaga.
WP McLawhorn (1-0), LP Serber (0-2)
2B-NF: Adam Speas, Wes Hobson. HR-GR: Josh Aldridge.
Records - North Forsyth 5-2, Greenville Rose 5-0.

Leading Hitters - NF: Addison Johnson 2-4, RBI; Hobson 2-3; GR Aldridge 1-3, run, 2 RBI's.

Notes - Johnson pitched seven innings, gave up no hits and had 13 strikeouts. Josh Aldridge hit the game-winning home run in the eighth inning.

The Vikings were in control for most of the game and had Rose down to their last strike, a 3-2 pitch was made by Johnson with the bases loaded in the 7th with the score 2-1 North. The plate umpire raised his arm and gave the strike signal which would have ended the game, then pulled his arm down and called ball four, forcing in the tieing run. The fans of both teams and the hitter couldn't believe it. Johnson had pitched a no-hitter and the game should have been over.

In the eighth the Vikings pushed another run across and took the lead 3-2, on a Michael Wall walk and Addison Johnson Rbi single. Jamie Serber came in the game and got two quick outs, gave up a single and then the game winning HR to Aldridge.

    Concord vs. West Brunswick

    Friday March 18th:
Concord was winning the game with a go ahead RBI single by Hunter Wyke in the 5th Inning. Then Brunswick kicked the Ball around to give the Spiders another Run. Then in the 6th Inning, Starting Pitcher for the Spiders Chad Dempsey got tired and the Brunswick Trojans scored 3 runs to take the Win 7-6.

    Overview:

Concord is a very underestimated team this year. If they can just find a way to get past the 6th inning, they would be 5-1 right now. They are better than what their record shows!

    The Spiders Upcoming Week:
    Tuesday: vs. Anson 7:00pm
    Thursday: @ #8 Piedmont 7:00pm.

South Meck vs Butler was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but was moved up today at 7:00 due to rain predicted all day tomorrow. I salute the coaches for making this happen

The Bull, pretty sure it was scored as an unearned run. There was a short writeup in the Enquirer Journal that mentioned the error that occurred making the run unearned but I just recycled all my old papers yesterday. Regardless, the pitchers and defense for Piedmont are doing one heck of a great job right now!

The Bull, I had originally thought there was an earned run during that game but later I was told differently.

Like wolfpac said, no matter what, Piedmont is getting better overall pitching than was originally expected. By my count, they have given up 4 earned runs in 55 innings with their #1 pitcher Tim King going against Concord @ Piedmont today.

I know several kids on Piedmont's team. They are playing great, no doubt about that. Find who has ya'll's book and you will see that it was earned.
