Southwest Edgecombe beat North Pitt for the 2nd time this season last night 11-10. They play Bertie today and host Tarboro on saturday.
The cougars are 3-2 on the young season with the loses coming to Farmville Central in the bottom of the 7th and to Hertford County, where a lefty did a good job on them. SW is playing alot of young guys and thet should help them when they come down to 2A next year.

Tarboro was scheduled to play three games this week (Nash Central, Roanoke Rapids and SWE) but the RR game has been postponed, so they can rest some pitching for the cougars. Its always fun when these two get together.

Im thinking this is the year they will win a conference game in the tough NEW6, question is who will it be against? Im sure all the teams are aware they havent won a game yet, and nobody wants to be first!

Cary never quit. They were down 10-0 with only one hit and could have called it a night. When the door was opened they kept it open for 7 runs in the 5th to make it a 10-7 GAME at that time.

    Cary 000 070 0 7 4 3
    Sanderson 316 004 X 14 14 0

    Sanderson WP M. Gagnon (1-0)
    Cary - S. McKinney

    Sanderson hitters --- K. Wigmore (3-5, dbl, 3 runs, 3 rbi), M. Gagnon (2-3, dbl, 2 runs, rbi), C. Wolfe (2-3, dbl, 2 runs, rbi), D. Adams (2-3, 2 runs, rbi), T. Trumps (1-2), A. Baldy (1-2, dbl, rbi), S. Beavans (1-2, 2 run, rbi), B. Burke (1-3, 2 runs, rbi), K. Wood (1-3, run, rbi).

Cary hitters - not sure of all the players as a lot of substitutions. S. McKinney dbl, singles by Evans, Konder and an unknown player - sorry.

Next up Sanderson -- CAP 7 opener vs Wakefield tomorrow ansd Cardinal Gibbons Saturday.
