    Patton vs. Foard and Hickory

    3-17-08
    Patton 4
    Fred T. Foard 2

    Nick Newton 5 ip 1 hit 12 K's
    Nick Chapman 2 ip 0 hits 4 k's
    Aaron Attaway 2 hits single,homerum 3 rbi's
    Eli Lawson HR

    Patton 8
    Hickory 6

Patton jumps out to a 5-0 lead on hickory and then hickory scores 1 in the 5th and 5 in the 6th to take a 6-5 lead going into the 7th inning.
Dykota Spiess then walks with one out and advances to 2nd on a wild pitch.Reggie Washington hits a double down to score speiss.Washington would then score on a double by Trevor Tallent, which would give the panthers back the lead.Tallent would go on to score on a base hit by eli lawson. Some great timely hitting in the 7th by the panthers in a good hard fought game by both teams.

Fairmont has not got its act together yet. The bats are not there as a team, only a couple of individuals one time shining with no follow-ups. Last night looked like the Bad New Bears with the errors. One bright spot on the team is Kyle Britt sophomore pitcher. (Michael Bass did get his first high school career HR (over-the-fence---he has several in-the-park) Finally, from a guy that had over .400 BA for his 1st three years.)

Mooresville beat Statesville 4-3 in a well fought battle for both sides.
Statesville came out strong hitting 2 HR's early but Mooresville followed up with a HR of their own. Junior Wes Dumford gets the win for Mooresville.

    JV Devils won 23-0

Sophomore AJ Nelson throws 3 1/3 innings while fanning 10
Freshman Andrew Meadows hits 1st HR of the year.
