    AK 1 East Meck 0

1 unearned run in the game in a pitching duel.

Olen Little pitched the whole game for E Meck and looked great.
Only gave up 2 or 3 hits.
Alex Bartolomeo lead off the game with a ROE, goes to second on a 5-3 play, and scores on a Logan Ratledge single for the games only run.

Ryan Butler looked great pitching the first four innings.
Alex Baker finished up giving up no hits in the last three innings with 1 intentional walk.
East Meck had only 4 hits I think...

    Hoke vs Scotland

Two of the best pitchers (Curt Britt (So) & Ronald Womack (sr)) in the state matched up for a show down at Scotland High. About one hour before the game started, we had a down pour. Then by the time the game started the winds picked up; wind blowing in and gusty up to 30 mph. The temperature continued to drop as the game started. Temperature dropped to 45 degrees. But Britt warm up the crowd with striking out the first three batters in the first. He was sporting a high 80's to low 90's the entire night. Then Womack enter the bottom of first with two strike outs. Unfortunally, his team had two errors that cost him two runs in the first. This was all that Scotland needed. Scotland went on to win 2-1. All three runs scored tonight were all unearned. Womack started out slow and then found a groove. He started mid 80's from the left side and pumped it up to high 80's. His slider and curve ball is unhittable! His fast ball has great movement when he follows through on his pitches. Early in game, he was standing straight up and not finishing!
Curt Britt is the real deal. Very poised throughout the entire game. Great technique and he mirrors it over and over. Very consistent, lively fast ball, great slider and low change up. This kid could be a starting pitcher for every DI college right now! I haven't seen all pitchers in the state yet, but he is second behind Dillon Maples from Pinecrest!

    East Meck vs Ardrey Kell

    AK---1
    EM-- 0

Outstanding pitching performance from both teams. AK scratched for a run in the first and that was it. They only had 2 hits all night as Olen Little was on for East Meck; throwing a complete game with 8 K's.

But AK got a great performance from Ryan Butler and Alex Baker to keep the Eagles off the board.

The Ryan Butler of 2010 is different than last year's version. Ryan has changed his mechanics from what I saw from last year and had picked up velocity with it. He was in complete control of the game with pinpoint accuracy until he got tired...very impressive! The Senator (Alex Baker) came in and closed the door.

Both teams squandered scoring opportunities, but the pitching was the reason. EM has lost 4 conference games by a total of 5 runs...they just can't get that key hit when needed.

Olen Little was sensational. The kid is a pure bulldog on the mound--never gives in and never stops competing.

Just another game in the SW4A
