This was a hard fought game between Northern and Person as they always are. The Rockets bounced back from a lackluster game with East Chapel HIll on Tuesday and played hard with good defense and solid pitching. We hit the ball hard, just right at people in crucial situations (the nature of the game, huh?)

As a fan, I hate to see the player's bat taken out of his hand (whether pitching around him or IW). As a coach, I doubt Bagwell was thinking if this was a playoff game or not. This is their biggest rivalry; He's thinking about winning the game. And their ain't nooooo waaaay I'm going to let Richie Shaffer beat me. Besides, I'm sure Coach Bagwell still has nightmares of last year's game. An extra inning affair concluded by Shaffer's walk off 3rd HR in the game. If I'm Bagwell....sorry Richie, you ain't beatin' me with the bat again.

 

Wesleyan Christian won the Duel on the Diamond Tournament this week-end at Ernie Shore Field in Winston-Salem. They beat Tatnell School from Delaware 13-1, beat Cave Springs, Va 15-1, and won the Championship 16-2 over Mountain State Academy from WVa.

Wesleyan's record is now 7-0 on the year. They are currently ranked 2nd in the state in the NCISAA 3-A rankings. They play next week in the Hilltop Invitational in Chapel Hill.
