About the Hopewell vs South Meck game. You will not find many games more well played by two teams at the HS level. It was a pleasure to watch both teams battle.

I had mentioned that South Meck needed their gamers to come to play....and they did. But one hitter stood out. Wes Borden has to be the best clutch hitter that SM has had in the last 3-4 years. The young man continues to make the key hits or defensive play when the game is on the line...kudos to him for standing up when he was needed :229031_ha

I would also like to mention how well Andy Oliver pitched for Hopewell. In his first outing this year, he was fantastic. He kept battling through out the game...never gave in. My admiration for that young man grew immensely.

It was a big win for the Sabres and it came at a great time.

Monday - Person vs w. Alamance Suspended Game

In a wild one at Western Alamance on Monday, the game was suspended by darkness with Person up 8-7 going into the bottom of the 7th. Game will be finished before our next contest at the end of the season. Western hit the ball well and Person came out very flat on a Monday.

Sorry I did not report this earlier, but I had to get my National Boards Box mailed this week, which I did Yesterday.... WHEW.......

Now I can get back to full-time baseball and teaching.

    Happy Easter to All.............

Kudos to Andy. It is good to see Andy get a little attention. Outstanding player, great young man ( Eagle Scout too..), & wonderful family. Congrats Andy on your impressive outing.

I second what bbrksfan said. Andy is a great kid that pitched a great game. Andy had been sick for a couple of the other games and that had thinned Hopewells pitching ranks. With him back on the mound the pitching should firm up. It was a fun game to watch that came down to the wire.

Piedmont beat Concord 4-1 today. Timmy King picks up the win striking out ~12. Cody Rape hit a pinch-hit 2-run HR and Rob Lyerly had a clutch double in the 5th driving in 2 runs that put Piedmont ahead for good. Piedmont is off until Friday of next week when they will travel to West Rowan.
