    East Meck 7 Olympic 1

    WP Brett Alter
    LP Greg Conrad (3-1)

Brett Alter pitched really well tonight and got the complete game win for the visiting Eagles. Greg pitched 6 1/3 innings for the Trojans and took the loss. In 3 innings, Olympic threatened to score, but East did a great job of making the plays when needed, to close out the innings.

Olympic REALLY needs to get some life into their bats for the remaining games of the season!! :twocents:

Anyway....congrats to the Eagles for a game well played!!

    Olympic 8-2 2-2 SW4A Later...RSPM:xyzwave:

    East Montgomery VS Jordan Matthews

    East-4
    JM-9

East had a good game going Early in the 1st.....looked like 1-2-3 but oh no
Lambert struck out the first two swinging but a low outside 3-2 pitch to batter number 3 went way over the center field fence. Lambert walked batter #4, and struck out batter #5.

East left the bases loaded twice during the game.....no timely hitting (Keith quote). They Eagles also had an encounter again with the error bug, too many in the outfeild that allowed extra bases, and runs to score.

Jordan Matthews pitcher just did what he had to do , and Dowd did a good job, of keeping East off balance. The Jets also hit the ball well in the gaps.

McCaskill for East had a 2 run home run. Quite a shot over right feild.

Lambert ended up with 5 innings pitched, 8K's, allowed 5 hits.

    Better luck next time fellas.

    JH Rose 2 - Charlotte Christian 1

Great highschool baseball game to watch, rose struck first in the 3rd inning scoring after a quessstionableee call by the umpire. bard and the other guy (wake forest signie) both pitched very well, both throwing upper 80's. christian finally got on the board on an rbi single by M. Fulginiti, with the score tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the 6th christian made a throwing error to allow the runner to score for Rose. christian would have been out of the inning but the umpire made a very questionable call after the runner on 1st tried to steal and was gunned out by 5 feet but the umpire said he never tagged him. both teams played hard and represented their programs. the lefty from rose hit 89 a couple times and was lights out most of the game. christian had runners on 3rd the first 2 innings but failed to score. good luck to both teams the rest of the way

    North Meck 5 Independence 1

Independence scored first with a leadoff double by Cooke followed by a sacrifice bunt by Starnes to move him to third. Cooke then scored on a fly ball to right by Bray.
North Meck scored two in the third when runners reacehd base on an error and a walk. With two out Kellett hit a single to left to score the two runs. In the fourth Pou hit a solo shot to give North a 3-1 lead.
The score remained 3-1 until the seventh inning. A. Bray came in to relieve R. Bray in the last inning. Pierce reached first on an error, Cavasinni doubled and Kellett hit another two out single to score the final runs. Pierce came in for Rosenbaum and pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning.
Both starters (R. Bray & Rosenbaum) threw well but North Meck was able to get timely hits. Independence had runners on first and second with no out in the second and failed to score. Cavasinni had two hits, Kellett had two key hits, Pou had the home run and Heath had a hit for North Meck. Cooke had two hits, Starnes had a hit and Taylor had a hit for Independence.

    Butler/Garinger (3/24)

Butler over Garinger. The Garinger squad is VERY MUCH improved. I was impressed with the motivation and leadership the coach is providing!!

    South Meck over Waddell (3/24)

South Meck continued to take it one game at the time defeating Waddell last night. David Rubinstein got the win for South Meck.

Waddell brought in a young "Freshman Pitcher" that threw well. Does anyone know his name?

    Hopewell 9 - Vance 1

WP Brandon Harper LP ALex Hill

Hopewell's Brett Richardson has been red hot :229031_ha at the plate and continued that last night going 3 for 4. In fact he just missed hitting the cycle. He doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th and just got under one in the 6th that went deep in center field - down either line he has it.

Vance's Alex Hill certainly is a talent and being only a sophomore we'll enjoy watching him play for years to come.
