What you have to understand here is that Hillside folded last year at the halfway point. I admire the new coach there and the mountanious task he has there to CREATE a baseball program. I personally wish him well, but he has a tough row to hoe in the PAC-6. I persoanlly have to admire the kids and their resiliency if they are able to stick it out this season and begin to build it up.

A little more info on the Wes/Wautaga matchup. Chad Jarvis threw 5 innings giving up 2 runs. Alex Robertson threw the 6th and Joel Morrow threw the 7th which ended up being the long inning for the Titans. Wautaga has a beautiful field but boy does the ball carry. Greg Holt hits 2 HR's for 4 rbi's in his 2 at bats, Garrison Lassiter hits a 3 run homer, and Chad Gentry hit a solo in the 6th. Well played game by both teams but with the wind blowing, this is a pitcher's nightmare. Pete Hardee does a great job with his Wautaga team. Very classy organization with some very talented players. Titans are very happy to leave with the victory. Winston-Salem/Forsyth County tournament next week. Anybody have results on the Mt. Tabor/Davie County game last night?

Doesn't South Caldwell have enough pitchers without having to thrust another one out there?:22_yikes:

Zack Brown nearly had a perfect game allowing only 1 baserunner to reach in the top half of the 5th and final inning. Zack threw a curve ball to strike out the batter but the catcher had difficulty corralling the pitch allowing the batter to reach first.

South is now 10-0 on the season and has outscored its opposition 91 - 12 on the season. This sets up a showdown Tues afternoon in Hudson with AC Reynolds. I believe AC Reynolds is also undefeated in the NW4A Conf. I have heard there will be a tremendous amount of scouts on hand to see Madison Bumgarner square off against Runion of the Rockets. South is ranked 3rd in the nation in the Baseball America Poll behind 2 prep schools in the rankings. If you are coming to the game get there early so you can get a good seat.
