this guy can play. I was very impressed with him when I saw him earlier in the year. Sounds like the bat is as good as the glove.

    LKN 6 East Rowan 2

A great game at Staton Field by both teams. Absent the 6 spot put in the books in the top of the 3rd by LKN, this was a pitcher's dual most of the night. Definitely looking forward to the rematch. LKN now host NW Cabarrus and Mooresville this week before taking a few days off for spring break. Nice job to both teams and coaching staffs.

Rob Pearce pitched 6 strong innings for the Patriots and Jeremy Stalker came in for the save. Pearce (4-0) gave up 2 hits. Will Bullock was great for the Vikings with 10 K's. The Patriots picked a run in the 1st and the 2nd.

    Southern 7-2, 3-0
    SG is 0-3 in conference

Mallard Creek lost to Forestview High today 12-2. Too many walks, timely hits by Forestview and not enough plays made will lead for a short day. Leading hitters for Mallard Creek was Mikal Hill- 2 for 2 with 4 stolen bases and 1 run scored. Sophmore John Murray was 2 for 2 with a run scored.

    Richmond/Providence

    Richmond 10
    Providence 8

Providence led 4-0 when the Richmnd bats came alive. Richmond led 10-4 going into the 7th but Providence fought back to make it close. Providence had the tying runs on 2nd and 3rd but had a strikeout and flyout to end the game.

Mike Nichols and Luke Bullard had HRs for Richmond

It definitely got interesting in the last inning. The kid who had the two run double jacked one just foul that would have been a grandslam (I think). Lively bats in this game. I'm really impressed with the way they're hitting lately. That's seven in a row after opening up 3-3. Scotland in town Tuesday for a make up.

    SW Guilford 000 100 X - 1 1 0
    Ragsdale---000 000 0 - 0 4 2

WP - Brock Hudgens save - Ethan Ogburn
    LP - Bennett Hixson (3-1)

Once again a typical Ragsdale-SW Guilford game. I could watch these guys play every day and leave happy. Every at bat, every pitch, every play in the field could mean the difference in the game.

Southwest's hit and the two Tiger errors didn't even figure into the one run scored. Southwest got it with small ball in the fourth. Will Kellam walked, got bunted over to second, took third on a wild pitch ( although Walt Sparks made a perfect throw to third and the tag looked like it was easily there) and scored on a grounder to second.

Ragsdale had chances but couldn't get a hit when they needed it. Both teams loaded the bases late and couldn't score.

good win for Southwest who has a team that is much better than their overall record. They'll most likely win their conference and be a very tough out in the playoffs. Probably will see another matchup with Ragsdale before it's over.

5 hits apiece I believe, including a solo home run by RM's Collins Cuthrell. Brian Goodwin singles in the bottom of the 7th to score Parker Helms for the win. All pitchers threw well today. Jordan Deloatch and Chad Hardee for Conley. Hobbs Johnson and Benton Moss for RM. Johnson threw 5 shutout innings for RM exiting with a 1-0 lead. Moss tossed the 6th and 7th to earn the win after blowing the save.
