McDowell 82 East Rutherford 69 :ylsuper:

Maybe this will quiet the critics a bit? Although, there will be 2 more tough ones next week. This team is getting better. Bethany Dages sprained an ankle, hope she's OK!

Lady Titans tonight showed the type of effort and desire that they have been lacking so far this season. East Rutherford came out blazing. The Lady Cavs had a 19-5 lead at one point in the first quarter. In previous games, the Lady Titans would have folded under that type of pressure, but tonight they hung in there and trimmed the lead to six at the end of the first quarter. McDowell got out of the zone and went straight man-to-man and it forced East Rutherford into turnovers. McDowell got the transition game going and ended up ahead at the half. East Rutherford came out in the third quarter and played tough, once again taking the lead, but McDowell turned up the defense one more knotch in the final quarter and pulled away with the victory.

Kurie Washington scored 26 points for the Lady Titans and Kelsea Greene had her best game of the season IMHO scoring 22 points and dishing out nine assists.

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
    AC Reynolds 57
    Owen 29

I didn't get to attend the game but word is Owen isn't all that hot! However also heard that ACR played some really good defense. The threat of bad weather pushed the game up an hour but ACR seemed to be ready. I guess the 12 day layoff didn't effect them. Hope the girls are ready for Friday's match up with East Burke, should be a good one.

Yeah we are 6-1 right now with the only loss to mt.tabor in winston salem. The girls have really gelled together and play really hard and the leadership is great. At least 3 players in double figures every night.Ali Ford,Alex Ervin and Michala Michaux make up a pretty good back court.

This game was closer than the final score indicates. Wat. actually lead by 1 after the first quarter. SC was very sluggish to start the game. Only Varsity played tonight and games started at 5:00. Not as big a crowd as usual and the dungen wasn't as loud as the girls are used to. Don't know if that contributed to their lackluster performance or not but this was the worst game they have played this year. SC came out strong in the second half to put Wat. away. They will have to play much better against teams like Reynolds, Freedom and even East Burke to be successful there. Lucky to get the win tonight
