The Stires kid is bad news for the I-Meck. He is only a sophomore. Lanky lefty, that has been compared to Nick Lomoscola that graduated a few years back and now is Catawba's ace. I believe he has been beat one time this year and that was a 3-2 setback to North Meck. If you want to see him this summer, I have been told by legion coaches that he is playing for Post 66 legion squad this year. The Moors are excited about that, and this young man's future on the diamond.

Very sharp, late-breaking curve ball with good command....

    Weddington 6 Porter Ridge 2

Weddington wins the make up game.

Alex Bostic goes 4 for the win. Sean Collins shuts them down in the 4th and 5th and Jordan Newsome comes in and slams the door in the 7th.

Hitting was solid all up and down the line up.

    CATHOLIC/WEST MECK

Great game Friday as these 2 teams met in a battle for 1st place in the MEGA 7 conference. Huge crowd was there also as West Meck honored Dalton Shaw and Langdon Rawls' mothers who are both battling cancer. West Meck won a tight, well-played affair 3-1 with Dalton Shaw going the distance and scattering only 7 hits. Shaw also came up with a huge hit and RBI late that provided the final run for the Hawks. Chris Vercauteran hit a solo HR and Eddie Hull went 3 for 3 for the Cougars. These two teams can play with anyone!!
