South Granville 2 East Forsyth 0

South Granville combined tremendous defense, great pitching and timely hitting to defeat East Forsyth. Web gems in the OF by Chris Riley and Amos Tilley were huge, both laid out and robbed batters of extra bases.

Will Bullock cruised for three innings before leaving after a line drive off his knee. Tyler Hunter pitched four no-hit innings of relief to improve to 5-0.

Chris Riley and Josh Darroch's back-to-back doubles and Clarence Peace's RBI single gave the Vikings the two runs needed.

SG plays at Chapel Hill to face the host Tigers on Sat. 4/10 as the Hilltop Tourney continues.

    Records:
    SG 6-5
    EF 8-3

    Jack Britt - 4
    Richmond - 3

Another one that got away. Missed opportunities and poor field play killed us. We're in the process of digging ourselves a deep hole.

Since you made this comment we have proceeded to lose two in a row. Would you pleeeeeze retract this statement and break the spell? It would be deeply appreciated.:sadbanana:

Wild Game last night @ Tarboro

Tarboro rallies to win in bottom of 7th 11-10.
NP begins the game putting the ball in play-getting some nice hits.
In top of 1st- Tarboro's 2nd baseman (Miller) and the right fielder (Goodwyn) collide into each other is short RF. Miller leaves the game as his head hit Goodwyns knee. Last I heard- no concussion and he is going to be ok. NP scores 2 here, and they later go up 5-0 maybe 6-0 in about the 2-3 inning. Tarboro scratches some runs to get the game to 6-4, then Bang- a couple of hits, a walk, a home run and NP leads 10-4. NP pitching didnt help itself later and walked in a couple of runs, and gave up a couple of 2 out hits and tarboro tied the game at 10 in the 6th. Bottom of 7th- Millers replacement playing leadoff- freshman- singles, SS Thorn flies out and then Kyle Norville comes up-past ball puts runner on 2nd- they walk Norville- he had mashed the cover off the ball all night. 2 on- Davis flies out to short right, Boykin comes to bat- they walk him to get to the other freshman- Wooten- he hits a sharp ball between 3rd and SS- The SS gets there and possible could of made a play to 3rd- but bobbles the ball and the winning run scored. Really fun and exciting game. Both teams really played hard. The kind of game where its a shame some one had to lose.

    WP- Norville

Tarboro 8-4 (3-1 Conference) plays next in Easter Tourney next Wednesday @ 7.
