I went to about 4 innings of the W.Meck-Harding game (not that it's of interest to many of you guys here), and W.Meck was winning 6-2. Keep in mind that Justin Gray started pitching, and Seth Stringfield was out. Daniel Jones hit a monster double, and Brandon Reeves led off with a lined shot. Harding is a sloppy team, but they have fun when they play. I'm sure the game ended different than it was when I left, but if they won the winning pitcher is Justin Gray.

    Independence over West Charlotte

John Danza & Billy Einright combined on the five inning shut out. The score may have been lopsided but the sportsmanship was pretty even. When they were down WC played hard and comended Indy on their play after the game. I know the boys from Indy enjoyed talking to them. From what I understand they are a young team. Let's hope they can be a good foundation for the future of that program.

    W.Meck-10
    Harding-5

    WP-J.Gray, 2-0

Impressive to see the Indians do so well without Seth in their lineup. I didn't expect much out of them, but outside of a few mistakes tonight they played decently. Don't have many stats, but I know Daniel Jones went 2-4 with a monster double and a nice lined single. Other than that it was just a regular game.

WM is now 4-6 (1-3) on the season...and looking to striaghten things out. They travel to Vance on Friday.

I did want to give props to Chip Smith for his A+++ glove at 3rd last nite for East Meck vs S Meck. He made all the plays and flat out stole 2 would be hits from South. I told him after the game that he was dealing like a Waffle House cook on a Saturday morning. His hard work is paying obvious dividends.

Props too to Tate, Schumer and Alter. Dang it!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banginghe

Oh my! If Reynolds is a state championship caliber team, it must be in the State of Confusion. This game was hard to watch unless you were an East Forsyth fan. Even then you must have felt like you were watching a car wreck.

5 walks, 1 hit batter, 2 hits, and four runs... all in the top of the first inning! That set the tone for the game and it didn't change much the rest of the way. East scored another run in the 2nd on two hits, three runs on 0 hits (3 BB, 1 Error) in the 5th, and five runs on 5 hits (1 BB, 2 HB) in the sixth.

Reynolds seemed to come alive in the 3rd inning when they scored 2 runs on two singles, a sac bunt, and another single. But two fly balls to CF ended the inning. In the 5th East really tried to help Reynolds out when they walked the first 3 batters to load the bases. Two singles and a sac fly followed to score three runs, and another single loaded the bases, all with 1 out. Unfortunately East then pulled a G1-2-3 double play to end the inning. Oh the agony!

In the end Reynolds gave up 13 runs on 10 hits, struck out 3, walked 12 (yikes!), and hit 3 batters. East also left 13 (!) runners on base (i.e. it could have been a lot worse!).

East Forsyth finished by giving up 6 runs on 8 hits, struck out 1, walked 5, and hit 2 batters. Reynolds left 8 runners on base.

    Pitching:
EF - (WP) Ryan Dull, Michael Mabe (5), Alex Starbuck (6), Kenny Swab (7).
RJR - (LP) Zach Powell, Torrey Johnson (1), Jay Laramore (6), Nick DeRose (7)

    Hitting:
    East Forsyth:
    Brandon Lawson - 1/3, 2 Runs, 2 BB
    Garrett Keener - 1/2, 2 Runs, 2 RBI, 3 BB
    Alex Starbuck - 2/4, 3 Runs, 3B, 2 RBI, BB
Cody McClellan - 2/4, Run, 2B, RBI, BB
    Andrew Flynt - 1/4, Run, 3 RBI, 2 BB
    Kenny Swab - 1/3, 2 RBI, BB
Jared Light - 2/4, Run, HBP
    Jimmy Bradley - 0/3, Run, 2 BB
Ryan Sprinkle - 0/3, 2 Run, RBI, BB, HBP

    Reynolds:
Dustin Johnson - 1/2, Run, BB, HBP
    Drew Bostian - 1/4, 2 RBI
    Nick DeRose - 1/4, RBI
Francois Byers - 1/3, sac fly, RBI
David Orr - 1/3, sac bunt
Torrey Johnson - 1/3, Run, HBP
    Hampton Foushee - 2/3, 3 Runs, BB
Hunter Boehme - 0/0, Run, sac bunt, 2 BB

I think East Forsyth's season record is 9-2 and 1-0 in the conference.
Reynold's season record drops to 9-6, and 1-3 in the conference.
