Charlotte Country Day 11....Charlotte Latin 1 (game 1)

    Latin… 010 00 ....1..1..0
    CCDS…311 24... 11..9..2

    Pitching:

    CCDS William Frazier 5IP, 1H, 1R, 1ER, 5K, 4BB WP (5-0)

    Hitting:

CCDS Brian Duncan 1-2, HR, 2RBI
    CCDS William Frazier 2-4, 2RBI
    CCDS Patrick Brady 1-1, 2RBI
    CCDS Lee Harrison 2-3, RBI
    CCDS Patrick Brady 1-1, 2RBI
    CCDS Tyler Holloway 1-3, RBI
Latin Kyle Arbuckle 1-2, HR, RBI

The Bucs squared off with a talented Charlotte Latin team and set the tone by scoring in every frame while getting a one-hitter from William Frazier on the bump. Sophomore Patrick Brady again keyed the attack from the leadoff position, reaching on three plate appearances with an RBI double on one trip. Junior catcher Brian Duncan cranked a 2-run HR and William Frazier drove in two runs with his second hit of the game. Defensively, Keisuke Ishewawa made an outstanding play on a flare into short right and all attempts to advance runners on the bases were thwarted by pickoff or throw out from the plate. Kyle Arbuckle hit one high in the jet stream for Latin's only hit and it carried out of the ballpark for a home run. The Bucs go to 12-1 for the season and 4-0 in conference play.

    Latin… 010 001 0....2..4..0
    CCDS…202 002 x....6..8..1

    Pitching:

    CCDS Tyler Holloway 6IP, 4H, 2R, 1ER, 4K, 3BB WP (3-0)
    CCDS Lee Harrison 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0ER, 2K, 0BB
    Latin Alex Mahoney 5.1IP, 6H, 6R, 6ER, 2K, 4BB LP

    Hitting:

CCDS William Frazier 3-4, (2) doubles, RBI
    CCDS Patrick Langdon 2-3, 3RBI
    CCDS Colin Walls 1-2, double
    Latin Charlie Fellers 2-3, double

The Bucs again scored in the first inning to get off to a good start and used three 2-run innings and a solid pitching performance by Tyler Holloway to finish the sweep of the double-header. Patrick Langdon continued to drive the ball in RBI situations, picking up three and William Frazier drove in a nice insurance run in the 6th inning with his second double of the game. Patrick Brady was again on base three times from the leadoff position. The Bucs go to 13-1 for the season and 5-0 in conference play.

    Mallard Creek win an upset?

    Mallard Creek 8
    NW Cabarrus 5

I did not make it to this one. A bit surprised at the result, but that happens in baseball. Maybe this is a forerunner of the soon-to-be playoffs. Best time of the year! :pleased:

Any details from anyone? Who pitched? Who hit? Who played some D?

    Thanks,
