    North Forsyth

How can this team be 8-6 with the talent they have. Arguably the best LHP and all around player in the state in A. Johnson. Plus Serber, Hobson, Morris, etc. Come on, who is coaching this team?

Baseball man......North has a very good coach and I believe that North has played one of the toughest non conference schedules in the state.....those 6 losses have come to quality teams.....and Addison Johnson hasnt thrown that many innings thus far. I still think North will win the Metro 4-A this year and Addison Johnson will be the player of the year AGAIN!!

    SW Guilford @ Parkland

    SW Guilford: 10
    Parkland: 3

It was yet another rough outing all-around for the Mustangs of Parkland. After getting out of a jam in the first, allowing SW to score only 1 run, the Mustangs tied the game in the bottom of the first on an RBI ground-out to the second baseman by Jon Helsabeck (Jr.). The Mustangs went up 3-1 after 3 scoring 2 more on a single by Jonathan Ray (So.), a single by Jacob Ray (Sr.), a double by Jared Dodds (Jr.), and another double by Bubba Donathan (Sr.). The Mustangs went down 4-3 in the 4th on a 3-run shot hit by SW centerfielder Brian Little that was hit off Mustang starter Jon Helsabeck. Mustangs fell apart after this and never could recover.

SW: Brian Little 2-4 5 RBI
P: Bubba Donathan (Sr.) 1-3 RBI
    Jared Dodds 1-3 RBI

Ragsdale 1-1 so far this week.

    from Monday night

    E Randolph 5 10 1
    Ragsdale 1 3 2

    WP Zack Strickland 6-0
    LP Trevor Mullins

after that win and another last night against Asheboro, Eastern is 7-0 in the Tri County and 15-1 overall.

last night Ragsdale beat Trinity in Jamestown 2-1. They must have started early because I was there about 7:30 and the lights were off and the field was empty. Ragsdale is now 12-4 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

    Ragsdale 2 6 3
    Trinity 1 2 1
    WP Jake Kensmoe 5-2
    LP Josh Roberts 2-4

Kensmore with 12 strikeouts and 2 hits in the CG.

It was business as usual for 5 innings, as the Wonders trailed Lake Norman 2-1 after 5 while the bats stayed cold. In the 6th, Garrett Sherrill (who signed earlier today with App St., congratulations!!) beat out an infield single leading off. Ryan Query spanked a single to left after Garrett stole second, setting up 1st and 3rd with no outs. Justin Thompson, who had struck out the first 2 times up, promply sends the first pitch wayyyyy out of the park, just foul. Wonder fans, coaches, and players were still shaking their heads when Thompson hit the next pitch deep over the left-centerfield fence for a 3-run bomb to give the Wonders the lead 4-2. Garrett pitched a 1-2-3 7th to get the save in relief of Brian Little, who turned in another strong outing to get the win.

This Wonder team is hard to figure out. In the beginning, the pitching and defense struggled, but the bats were hot, which kept the Wonders in games. Now, our pitchers are throwing great (6 runs given up in the past 4 games, 2-2) and our defense is playing well, but our bats are under a voodoo spell or something. These guys can hit, but it's just not happening yet. Now would be a great time for the bats to get started, for after Statesville tomorrow, the Wonders play NW Cabarrus on Tuesday and W. Rowan next Friday. Maybe the little dribbler by Garrett tonight will be like a snowball, it'd be a sight to see this lineup hitting on all cylinders!!
