    Hopewell over Harding

Hopewell defeated Harding last nite alot to a little in 4-1/2 innings. Adam Waters and Michael Vaughn pitched well for the Titans. Hopewell was approaching double digits in the 1st inning when Coach Billings followed his normal procedure this year when in this situation - he pulled most of the starters in the 1st, allowing the reserves and the JV players (that had been brought up for the game) the opportunity to get some playing time. Harding never gave up and as the game progressed, even though the Rams didn't generate many runs, they produced some hits and made some nice defensive plays - hats off to them for their spirit and determination.

Wow ... With 4A Wakefield and 3A Franklin both going down, that's the end of undefeated teams in the state this year. Everyone now has at least one loss.

...I was wrong, Seth didn't pitch. I have no idea why, but he didn't pitch. He said Indy was really hitting the ball well, there really wasn't much they could do. He told me that they (WM) hit the ball decently, but just couldn't get the job done. I just don't know why Seth didn't pitch tonight...maybe he's trying to get his younger guys more prepared for next year, seeing as 1 of the 3 playoff spots are far from their reach. I really don't know, but whatever it is there has to be a reason. Goog game by Indy, even though I didn't get to see it.

    PHS 7 Butler 0

Hendel (PHS) and Edwards (Butler) were tied up in a good old fashioned pitchers duel until the bottom of the fourth when the Panthers batted around and plated 7 runs. Mailman singled to right and Mauney followed with a bunt hit. Moore bunted them over but Butler tried to get the force at third and the throw was errant, filling the bases. An infield throwing error on a grounder to second plated the Panthers first two runs, and put men on second and third. Scism singled to right scoring two. Dunning closed out the scoring with a 3-Run HR (7-0). Spencer Hendel recorded his second complete game shutout in a row. He is now 5-0 on the season.

The Panthers move to 14-2 overall and 7-0 in the SW4A with a Crucial Matchup at home v South Meck (5-2) Saturday at 1pm.
