    Lake Norman 3 North Meck 4 F/9

Heck of a game went 9 innings. North Meck was up 3-2 with 1 out in the top of the 7th when Ian Edminston hit a 2-2 pitch over the left field wall for a homerun. Tied the game up at 3 from there went scorless till the bottom of the 9th. North meck got runners at 1 and 3rd with 1 out. the baserunner on 1st left early the infield yelled step off and the pitcher balked and the game was over just like that.

Tyler Lewis started for Lake Norman going 4 2/3 allowing 3 runs 2 er
Followed by Taylor Thurber who threw 3 2/3 allowing the 1 run (on the balk)

Ian Edminston had 2 hits including a homerun.
    Brad Chamberlain had 2 hits
Jack Edminston had a hit with an rbi, Nick Keith, Tyler Lewis each had a hit.

A couple good signs for Lake Norman.....1 scored 3 runs which tied how many they had there last 3 games. 2 had a started go 4+ innings in atleast a month. Before tonight Lake Norman had been outscored the past games 31-3.

Lake Norman and North Meck now 4-3 in the tough IMECK. Hopewell, Mallard Creek, Mooresville all 5-2

Lake Norman plays Mallard Creek at home on tuesday.

North Meck 4, Lake Norman 3 (9 innings)

North Meck bounced back tonight and beat Lake Norman 4-3 in a well-played 9-inning contest. Paul Leonard (2011) got his first career win in relief of Johnny Piedmonte and Jip Richards, both of whom pitched well. Adam Venditti doubled in the 9th. Pinch runner Justin Lanham moved to third on a grounder and scored on a rare walk-off balk.

Looks like it will be quite a race in the inaugural season of the I-Meck conference. I believe only one game separates the top 5 teams.

NW bangs out a win against the Vikings. Winning pitcher Rob Bain had another good outing.

Mallard Creek beat Mooresville 15-3 tonight it was a a big win for the mavericks as it puts them in first place with Mooresville and Hopewell. Moresville jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first 2 innings. Mooresville pitcher who is a very good pitcher had trouble tonight with his control and the mavericks took advantage with some big hits and it just snow balled on them. Offensively the Mavericks were led by Kirk Morgan who had 3 hits, Jamel Harbison, 3 hits, 3 runs scored. Mikal Boles pitched a great game keeping the hard hitting BlueDevils in check for five innings.

    Ragsdale 7-------- 203 101 0 7 8 5

pretty wild game at SW tonight. Walt Sparks got Ragsdale off to a great start with a 2 run HR over the left field fence to start the game. But SWG sent ten to the plate and took a 6-2 lead after one. Lots of hard hit balls flying all over the place tonight. Lots of errors on both sides too. Five for Ragsdale and four for SWG. Zack Hodges lasted only two innings and took the loss. Brock Hudgens pitched all the way for SWG. He pitched well late, striking out the last five batters, thirteen for the game.

The errors really cost Ragsdale. They also left a lot of men on base. Lost a run at a play at the plate. Four times had a runner on third with one out or less and couldn't get the run in. Ben Fultz was 2-3, HR, W, RBI. Sparks was 1-3, HR, W, 2 RBIs, 2 runs. DeSean Anderson was 2-3. SWG hit well throughout their line up.

With the loss Ragsdale is 12-3, 6-1 in the conference. Still in first but they gotta beat E Forsyth Monday night to stay there. Brutal schedule next week. East Forsyth Monday, NW Gulford Tuesday and Glenn on Wednesday thanks to two make up games.

Dylan May left the game after the first inning, with pain in his elbow (thats the third arm problem this season). He's had control problems in both games with Hickory Ridge. Let's hope it's nothing serious, he was out most of last year with torn tendon in his ankle. Kannapolis has used 11 pitchers in 18 games, with six wins to show. "Ziggy" Andrews was really good on the mound and at the plate, great kid. Good to see TJ21 at the game!

    AK 13-4 Over Indy

Kell broke open a close game late. Trent Thorton got the win, McCue did well in relief. Ratledge HR, Davies Couple of hits, Baker Three hits.

Coach at Indy is doing a great job building that program, his kids play really hard.
    Might have been 12-4 Sorry!
