Nick Durazo (4 hits allowed) of Lee County and Jimmy Boyd (2 hits allowed) of Middle Creek both put on a show. Both worked out of jams, both were in command of the strike zone, both were bringin the heat, both deserved the win, etc. Middle Creek wins 1-0 on a bases loaded walk (walk, single, bunt single, walk) in the bottom of the 7th.

Middle Creek improves to 15-4 overall and 9-2 in the Tri-9.

Gehringer should be around .400 or so. He is such a tough out due to the fact that his swing usually takes hit 1/4 of the way to first....lol He is very quick out of the box and in general. I swear he is usually good for at an infield single a game. Big asset for us as leadoff. I am very happy for our bats these last 7 games up and down the lineup 1-9. Our fresh Jordan Huntley is becoming a solid guy at the plate and will replace Gehringer in CF next year.. (stud running back also)

About the misspelling I do read the observer every morning so I have an excuse. Not sure of why I am at the receiving end of hostility. I did enjoy the game. Though it was very well pitched by both sides(better by Thornton) I did call out a few Kids that did well. I also liked the hard line drive to left center by miles as well. Yes mp got beat but looked Alot better than they have been looking even though they did strike out 16 times. It's all good. Take care.

 

Tough on Justadad

Baylee, don't be so tough on Justadad. From Myers Park's perspective, they stayed in the game and had a chance up until the final out was made. Ross Groome continued his streak against Thornton as I believe he is now 5 for 5 over the two games they have played - he has a great approach at the plate. Thornton didn't make too many mistakes last night, but Ryan Ahlum made the most of one of the mistakes as he hit it just over the short porch in right field to make it a 3-2 game.

It will be interesting to see how AK does in its next two games as it could set up the big showdown against Providence on the 30th - they better not look past Butler or East Meck!

Justy....now that's funny! I hope you intended to misspell MYLES' name just to show your sense of humor! I doubt many people caught it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!

And it reminded me that the "potential" play of the game would have been the diving catch on Myles hit....that was quite an effort by the left fielder. "Almost" a great play!
