    EM 9; RR 0

    Logan Sherer and Ian Ashworth combined for a one hitter. Justin Strong and Sherer each hit 2 run homers as EM pounded out 12 hits.

    The highlight of the night came in the JV game. Marcus "Tater" Tate hit a triple early in the game and then in his next at bat, he made sure he didn't have to display his speed. He hit a bomb out of right center.

    The varsity baseball in the SW4A is great but it is really fun to watch the JV games and see the young guys compete. (Makes us old guys feel like there is a level where we could still play......maybe.)

    But there werent any triples in the South Meck vs Independence game yesterday. There was a sinking line drive hit in front of the South Meck Right Fielder that he misplayed. The runner wound up on third. A single and a two base E9. But no triples.

    TBR Commandments

    OK Eaglet....lessons shared with another "dad" .... TBR Commandments (selected few of the ten). #1 Thou shalt not pound thy chest for a W over RR ever. #2 Thou shalt not envoke the name of JV in varsity threads. #3, and perhaps most important...Thou shalt not EVER place thyself in the context of vicarious participant.

    That being said...congrats to Logan, Justin and Tater for dingers. Anyday, anytime, that's good stuff! And Eaglet --- there is a forum for men's over 40 softball that would love to hear about your skills!

    The ball was hit in the right field gap and then hit a rock and went away from the fielder. The triple was not because of shear speed and the ball was not misplayed by the fielder. I cannot give a kid an error for a carom off an unforeseen foreign object.

    Dangit Brian....quit being so critical of the stat man! Johnny needed that triple to help his slugging percentage!

    As a good friend of mine continues to say to this day..."did he hit the ball? is he standing on third? Then it is a triple."

    we never, ever let him within .5 mile of the score book.

    EagleDad....read the post. He was not talking about your JV triple.
    He is discussing the SM Indy game and the scoring within SW4A thread.
