    Ragsdale 9
    SW Randolph 7

I got there late. Ragsdale was behind 6-2 in the fifth despite having ace Trevor Mullins on the mound. Apparently some shoddy defense by Ragsdale and timely hitting by SWR was the key to that point. Justin Yow had the start for SWR but lost the plate in the fifth giving up two walks and a single and throwing three balls to Brandon Phelps before getting pulled. Phelps was walked to make it 6-3 then Catlin Carter stroked a beautiful double into the left center gap clearing the bases and tying the game. A few wild pitches and a nice two out hit by Tyler Rankin made it 8-6 by the end of the inning.

Mullins pitched to four batters in the 5th getting two outs sandwiched around a walk, a WP and a hit to make it 8-7. Catlin Carter came on in relief recording a strike out to end the threat. Ragsdale added an insurance run in the 7th then Carter struck out the side in the 7th after giving up a leadoff walk.

Great game and atmosphere (weather was as perfect as it gets) in Jamestown tonight. Lots of vocal fans showed their appreciation for a hard working #1 ranked team in the state.

Ragsdale is now 18-1 overall and 7-1 in the Mid Piedmont 3A and back in first if the score I heard on NC Preps from tonight is right, Eastern Randolph 11 Randleman 5.

If Ragsdale keeps winning I might even coax Braves to make another road trip to Jamestown.:thud:

Tuesday May 2 will probably be Trevor Mullins against Ben Bunting and Randleman most likely for first place in the conference - can't find a better game than that to attend.

    Independence-7 -- Providence-1

    WP - Bray (6-1); LP - Hendel

Robbie was pretty much lights out last nite - silencing the Providence bats, allowing only three hits and one run (HR by Mailman). Robbie helped himself tremendously by going 2-3, 3 rbi's, including 2 HRs (wondering once again, why he wasn't swinging the bat for the Patriots up until this year?) Billy Enright was 3-4, 2 rbi's, including 1 HR. The conference is really going to be interesting the last couple of weeks leading up to the conference tournament. With Bray's leadership and strong performances on the mound, and the strong bats across the majority of the Patriots lineup - any team will have their hands full when they face Indy.

BRAY BRAY What Can I Say??

Thank you REDBIRDFAN. I got busy last night, I couldnt post the INDY highlights of the INDY/PHS game last night. Robby was AWESOME on the MOUND and Showed he has what it takes at the PLATE-- TWO HOMERUNS. It was all INDY last night.

PHS never threatened as Robby had the Panthers off stride all night. I've seen Robby pitch quite a few great games and last night he was at the top of his game. INDY is definitely a force to be reckoned with this season.

    WP: Bray
    LP: Hendel

West Stokes beat Eastern Guilford 4-1. Thomas Newsome threw his 7th complete game and improved to 8-0 on the season.

Athens Drive takes it to Riverside 6-2

Last place in Tri-7, Athens Drive upsets #5 rated team in state, Durham Riverside.
Durham starter pitched well with Daniel Ottone(AD) hitting three run homer off second Riverside pitcher to put the game out of reach. Only second loss for Riverside this year.
    Ross Snotherly win
    Michael Schmidt save
