Lake norman 8 West rowan 1

Lake norman stays unbeated in the npc. Thanks to a huge pitching performance out of junior lefty Scottie Williams(2010). who threw i think 5 and 1/3 allowing 1 run before running into a jam. He was relieved by Ross Whitley(2009 Catawba) who came in and slammed the door.

Garret White pitched for the Falcons only allowing 2 hits in 3 innings i think.

    LKN HITTING:

    Donnie Burt(2009) 1-3 rbi
    Joe Faist(2009) 1-3
    Tyler Lewis(2010) 1-3 rbi
    Nick Keith(2010) 1-3
    Jordan Farrell(2009 CVCC)1-3

Lake Norman now 15-1(12-0) clinches playoff birth and will play carson on tuesday for the first time on the season.

    Southern 13
    Eastern 12

Southern wins a wild one. Combined 30 hits and 15 errors. Ugly game from a pitching and defensive perspective.

Southern is now 14-4 and 7-0.

    Big Upset in Tri-8 (4A)

    TONIGHT:
Athens Drive @ Cary (USA Stadium)
Lee County 0 at Fuquay 1
Middle Creek 3 at Apex 2
Panther Creek 9 at Green Hope 7

Fuquay scores 1 in the first, and that's it, FV Travis Long out duels LC Dillon Frye.

Middle Creek come back from down 0-2, to win 3-2 on solo HR from their #9 hitter.

As was predicted, Panther Creek pulled a big upset, as they completely outplayed a sluggish (maybe over confident ?) GH team for 3 1/2 innings going up 7-0, only to run out of pitching and have the game tied 7-7 in the 6th. PC bunts it's way to 2 runs in the 7th and holds on for the big upset win !!

As for Athens at Cary at USA Baseball - where is JM15 when you need him ???

    Middle Creek 7-1 13-5
    Green Hope 7-2 15-4
    Fuquay-Varina 7-2 10-8
    Apex 4-4 9-6
    Athens Drive 3-5 8-8
    Cary 2-5 5-10
    Panther Creek 2-7 4-12
    Lee County 1-7 1-14

    South Granville vs Webb

Outstanding performance tonight by South Granvilles Josh Darroach. When he is on he is very very good. Tonight he was on. I saw SG earlier in the year and they struggled at the plate and in the field. Tonight they looked like a totally different team. They are riding an 11 game win streak and against some very good teams. Coach Ferrell has done another great job this season along with Coach Moran and Coach Stephenson.

Webb is very good. This was a great win for the Vikings. Congrats Coach!

    Faith Christian wins 2.

Thursday night at historic Fleming Stadium FC wins 11-0 against Greenfield. Dillon Proctor strokes a line drive home run to deep left center while Clayton Kelly picks up the win.

Friday FC defeats Rocky Mount Academy 7-5. Dillon Proctor again has the big bat hitting a 2 run home run opposite field to break a 3-3 tie in the top of the 7th. Zach Whichard throws a complete game on the bump.

FC is 12-3 on the season and finishes its regular season next week with 3 big games - Kerr-Vance, Waccamaw and a rematch against cross town rival Rocky Mount Academy.

A sign of good coaching is the amount of improvement from the beginning of the year to the end. It sounds like Coach Ferrell is doing an excellent job. Keep up the good work, my friend!
